Any type of emergency assistance programs from Sumter County South Carolina Salvation Army are focused on individuals that need a second chance with say paying rent, food, or finding supplies like free Christmas gifts, but that are willing to gain self-sufficiency. While they will try to help people that fall into that category, there are other resources for the general public, namely the ability to shop at a thrift store as well as people that can volunteer.
The financial aid that many people may request (but that is limited) is part of the Sumter Salvation Army Family Services. There are a few categories that any support falls into, and those include housing, food, medical, and employment needs. The goal of any assistance is to resolve a health or safety crisis, which may include lack of food, homelessness, or the need to pay for health care.
