Shelby County transitional housing programs.

Find information on Shelby County Tennessee housing resources. Various programs, including shelter and transitional apartments and homes, are available for families facing imminent eviction. Those residents that are currently homeless can also possibly get help from several different non-profits and government resources.

Only a small number of income qualified families, seniors, or individuals can receive assistance. The main reason being the very high demand for low income housing in the Memphis area. Also please note that most of the agencies will require participants to attend case management, get a job, and achieve self-sufficiency.

Some of the leading housing resources are below. If a center can't meet your needs then they may offer referrals or other forms of support. This can include assistance in applying for public benefits (such as section 8 housing vouchers), information on job training, and anti-poverty measures. Many agencies can also help the currently homeless find an emergency shelter and get rehoused.
