The greater Wichita area is supported by a couple dozen main emergency, free food pantries as well as soup kitchens near you that offer a number of services to low income families, the disabled, working poor and elderly as well as children. Many resources are offered today, for immediate needs. Among them include distributing emergency food for singles or families in the Sedgwick County Kansas region, free Thanksgiving or Christmas meals, baby formula, and applications to SNAP food stamps or Meals on Wheels in Wichita. Each center will have an application process in place. Among them include a process whereby applicants will need to present proper identification for each household member and others who may benefit from the food or meals. Many locations will also require proof of address as well as the applicants income which will also be all family members. Most Sedgwick County food pantries will also try to assist the needy in any other way possible. This can include such services or resources as diapers, baby formula, clothing, or even winter coats for kids or summer snacks for students.

Wichita Dream Center at Hope Church - Food & Clothing Distribution

Their services are only available on the 2nd Saturday of each month. Please stop by on the 2nd Saturday from 9 - 11 am for their food distribution.
