Free food pantries in Sedgwick County.

The greater Wichita area is supported by a couple dozen main emergency, free food pantries that offer a number of services to the needy. Among them include distributing emergency food for singles or families in the Sedgwick County Kansas region, free Thanksgiving or Christmas meals, and applications to SNAP food stamps. Many of the food pantries also have soup kitchens on site too for anyone in need. Other resources may also be available.

Each center will have an application process in place. Among them include a process whereby applicants will need to present proper identification for each household member and others who may benefit from the food or meals. Many locations will also require proof of address as well as the applicants income which will also be all family members.

Most Sedgwick County food pantries will also try to assist the needy in any other way possible. This can include such services or resources as diapers, baby formula, clothing, winter coats for kids, as well as Thanksgiving and Christmas meals and gifts.
