Cash grants from Southeast Alabama Community Action Partnership for paying utility bills are also available as part of the Low-Income Home-Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP. This helps very low income residents, senior citizens and the disabled in Barbour, Coffee, Geneva, Henry, Houston, Dale, Pike, and Covington Counties afford energy expenses year round, with a focus on the winter and summer costs.

SEACAP, working with corporations, charities, and non-profits, gives out free gift cards, backpacks, notebooks, computers and even information on cell phones from the government. Southeast Alabama Community Action has a food bank and Brown Bag lunch/dinner program (for seniors). The non-profit also distributes food or grocery vouchers to help clients maintain an adequate level of nutrition in counties including, but not limited too Geneva, Barbour, Pike, Coffee, and Henry. Applicants to the non-profit must submit picture identification and verification of their income in order to benefit from this resource. One household is eligible to receive one voucher per month. Housing counseling programs in SE Alabama
Rural Housing Preservation Grants can be used to rehabilitate homes in rural areas of Henry, Covington, Pike, and Coffee County. These subsidies cover the expenses for services that improve safety of the property, reduce energy expenditures and extend the livability of homes. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) allocates Rural Housing Preservation Grants to the agency. They then process funds to qualified applicants.
Southeast Alabama Community Action Partnership can offer referrals to multifamily housing complexes for underprivileged families and elderly individuals. There are also apartments for single mothers or fathers in SE Alabama.
