Low income and struggling families in Schuylkill County can get help from a free food pantry or soup kitchen near them, which are listed below. Based on donation levels, there may be canned groceries, fresh fruit, meat, or vegetables and even baby formula for new parents. Many of the charities that giveaway free food also have clothes, personal hygiene supplies, and other goods for clients. A wide variety of resources may be offered. The goal of the food pantries across Schuylkill County and Pottsville is to help feed struggling households. This can include free food for the elderly, disabled, single mom or dads, or just low income families. In general, a few to several days supply of food is offered. Note many also have seasonal assistance programs, ranging from free Easter, Thanksgiving, or Christmas meals to clothes at winter or summer snacks for kids.

They operate a Pottsville area free food bank. Boxed or Canned Juices, Dried beans, Peanut Butter, Bread, shelf-stable foods, meat and more may be offered. Donations keep the pantry open, and volunteers from the charity hope the low income and working poor.
