Routt County assistance programs in Colorado.

There are several non-profit agencies and charities to call for help in Steamboat Springs and Routt Colorado.

Lift-Up of Routt County - This is one of the leading non-profit agencies in the county that may arguably provide the most programs for the low income, unemployed, and others who need help. It may offer the best possibility of receiving financial assistance. The organization can offers temporary, emergency financial and non-monetary assistance through local Food Banks and Pantries, Community Thrift Store, Community Care Fund, as well as the USDA food commodity distribution. Routt County medical and dental care

Northwest Colorado Dental Coalition - A sliding fee scale is offered by this non-profit Dental Clinic. The center may be able to deliver both restorative and preventative free or low cost (depending on income) dental services and education to children of the Northwest Colorado region who are Medicaid eligible, qualified for government programs such as CHP+ eligible and also for the regions low-income as well as under or uninsured (sliding fee scale). Routt County Department of Social Services is the local government agency that is a great resource to learn about, and apply for, all sorts of financial assistance and other aid. The main office is in Steamboat Springs Colorado, and can be reached at 970-879-5249.

Just as a sampling of some of the aid offered includes applications for the low income home energy assistance program (LIHEAP), TANF food stamps, government health insurance, and both federal and Colorado assistance programs. In addition, the are the community action agency, and run the CSBG program, which funds can be used for these service areas and energy bills. Love of Yampa Valley and Springboat can provide for basic needs. The faith based charity offers free items such as clothing, holiday gifts, food, and meals. There may also be car repairs provided by the local churches. The local Clearinghouse from the charity can offer referrals to home repair programs and government benefits, such as SNAP food stamps. Free legal aid and representation in Northwest Colorado

Pro-bono legal aid is offered by Northwest Colorado Legal Services. Speak to an attorney by calling (970) 276-2161. The law firm provides free quality legal assistance, consultations, and advice to low to moderate income residents as well as the elderly who may be needing legal help with certain civil legal problems such as foreclosures, domestic relations, landlord/tenant disputes, illegal terminations, and debtor/collection.
