Free Christmas and holiday assistance programs Prince George’s County.

Several charities as well as churches provide holiday help to the low income in Prince George’s County. Many agencies give free Christmas presents from Toys for Tots, and all those items are new. There is Angel Tree and Adopt a Family from the Salvation Army, free Thanksgiving turkey dinners or Christmas meals, and other assistance programs. Many of the Thanksgiving and Christmas resources are for kids, the elderly, poor, and single moms among others.

All these free holiday programs rely on donations as well as volunteers in Prince George’s County. Many of the programs, such as USMC Toys for Tots and Angel Tree, also rely on corporations. Kids may be given free toys like video games, Legos, books, and other goods. Families may be given gift cards to shop for holiday food or other free gifts at Christmas. Find details below.

Salvation Army holiday programs in Prince George’s County
The faith-based charity helps anyone in need, regardless of race, religion or age. Get help from Angel Tree, which gives free Christmas gits or clothes. There may be toy trucks for boys, dolls for girls, electronics and more. There is also additional  emergency financial aid at the holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets or turkey dinners, winter attire and other goods. This may be the main Christmas gift program in the county. First-come and served. Get many free presents, including clothes, sneakers, video games, books, tablets, winter jackets, and more. Low income families with children under the age of 17 down to infants can apply for help. Tens of thousands of children get assistance each year. They offer faith based community services. The Family Ministry Center gives everything from free school supplies to Christmas toys. Veterans as well as Congregate Meals for Seniors also help spread holiday cheer.

The mentally and physically disabled, single moms and unemployed in the county can participate in holiday programs and even parties. Most assistance is for existing clients on the non-profit.
