Philadelphia and regional free Christmas and Holiday assistance.

There are a number of non-profits and charities that offer free Christmas gifts, meals, food, and other holiday support. Agencies are located across Philadelphia and other nearby counties, including Bucks, Chester, Montgomery, and Delaware. Some of the primary beneficiaries include children, seniors, and low income and unemployed families.

The application period for these holiday assistance programs usually open up during the fall months and help people on a first come, first served basis. So apply early. The non-profits also have limited resources as they depend on donations and volunteers.

Some of the items most highly in demand include toys for children, gamles, gifts, and clothing, in particular winter items. Volunteers will often help serve food and meals, such as Turkeys, around Thanksgiving and Christmas time. Many centers will also deliver gifts or free, hot meals to the elderly, disabled, and homebound in the Philadelphia area.
