Pasco County Catholic Charities assistance programs.

Catholic Charity services, case management, and limited financial assistance is provided to qualified low income families regardless of their religion, race, or gender. Several programs are focused on meeting housing needs, including foreclosure, homelessness and evictions. Other support in Pasco County Florida includes food, referrals, and assistance for seniors and children.

Counseling is offered to address several different needs and issues. Get assistance and advice in dealing with personal concerns, credit counseling and other family problems. Most of the counseling services are offered on a sliding fee scale, meaning some minimal fees may be due from the client. Some services, such as credit counseling, are offered in partnership with local non-profits.

Women, including single parents, can access support services in East Pasco County. Trained Catholic Charity staff and volunteers offer comprehensive services to women and their families. Examples of assistance provided includes free pregnancy testing, information on adoption, prenatal and childbirth information, post-natal and parenting information.

Basic needs can be met as well. The charity, and its partner churches and non-profits, will try to ensure residents, including parents, have needed maternity and infant supplies, such as diapers and formula. Residents can also get community resource referrals and free emergency food items. If Catholic Charities can’t meet your needs, then get referrals to other local resources or get help in applying for government aid, including low income housing, food stamps, or the WIC program. Services and advice is provided at no cost to the client.

Individuals and their immediate families being impacted by HIV/AIDS can look into financial assistance and emergency aid. Catholic Charities distributes funding from the Ryan White Title I program. Financial aid is offered for paying rent, housing costs and utility bill assistance. Also, work with a case manager on getting information on medical care or prescription medications. A number of assistance programs are offered to individuals with HIV/AIDS in the community.

Shelter and transitional housing is provided by resources including Project LIFT, or Living Independently as a Family Transitioned. This facility is located in Dade City Florida. Short term, and eventually permanent housing is provided for homeless children and families with disabilities that meet income guidelines. Social services are provided too.

Participants of the housing program will be assisted with obtaining and remaining permanently housed. So this means that Catholic Charities will also coordinate intensive case management that can include job search assistance, medical care, referrals, and more. This goal is to ensure that self-sufficiency and independent living is achieved.

Current homeowners and first time buyers can look into foreclosure counseling and/or Down Payment Assistance. This is offered both nationally and locally in Florida. The Catholic Charities Homeownership Assistance Program, or CCH, provides funds for down payment to income qualified buyers in accordance with HUD guidelines. The money does not need to be repaid so it is technically offered as a grant.

Foreclosure counseling is for those who are falling behind on their mortgage. Get information on possible solutions, including federal government programs, mediation, and resources offered directly by bank. The main goal is to ensure Pasco County families and residents do not go homeless.

Most of the programs are focused on helping people gain self sufficiency. Case managers and social workers will offer support and guidance to help stabilize poor individuals, senior citizens and families in crisis.

Social services are administered in an effort to assist people and families who are in danger of becoming homeless, facing eviction or foreclosure, or maybe who are in need of emergency utility bill assistance. Catholic Charities provides qualified clients with referrals to other non-profit organizations and government benefits. The goal of any resource administered is to assist clients from Pasco County in becoming self sufficient.
