Foreclosure prevention clinics in Nevada.

A number of classes, seminars, and workshops are offered by Nevada Legal Services. Homeowners across the state can attend one of the many sessions for free advice, support, and foreclosure prevention counseling.

The exact dates, timing, and locations of the classes and seminars will vary, however historically they have been held in many of the locations referenced below. Always call to get the latest details and schedules of the Nevada foreclosure prevention clinics.

Free foreclosure education seminars are usually held multiple days every month in the greater Las Vegas area. Many of the past sessions have been held at the Orleans Hotel and Casino, which is located at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89103. Homeowners can attend a session to learn about the foreclosure process, different private and government assistance programs that may be available, and in general get free information on how to combat a foreclosure. Counselors will walk people through the process, and try to help them get relief with their payments.

The Reno Office of Nevada Legal Services also organizes free foreclosure workshops and classes. They are usually held on the 3rd Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m., and most sessions are held right at their main office, which is located at 654 Tahoe Street, Reno, Nevada 89509.

The sessions can put residents in face to face contact with highly trained, HUD approved counselors. You can explore loan modifications and your legal rights when it comes to the foreclosure process.

Homeowners across the northern part of Nevada may be able to receive help as well. As indicated above, the exact locations, as well as the dates and times, will vary, but some of the sessions in the past have been held at the locations below. Almost all cities, towns, and counties across the state will have some type of educational session or clinic from time to time. Otherwise someone could always drive to the nearest workshop. Some of the locations of the sessions in the past have been as follows.

Free services offered from Nevada Legal Services

Homeowners who are struggling with paying their home loan payments or who are behind on their mortgage should look into options. Ideally solutions should be explored prior to receiving a foreclosure notice from your lender.

These foreclosure prevention clinics will put individuals in touch with housing counselors, paralegals, and other staff from Nevada Legal Services who may be able to assist you in dealing with your bank or loan servicer. Individuals will need to qualify for their programs, so call or stop by. Find more HUD counselors in Nevada.

As mentioned above, time and speed is of the essence. It is very important that you begin working with the bank as soon as possible, ideally before you even face a foreclosure. If you have already missed payments or if you think you may be at risk of defaulting on your mortgage, then counselors from Nevada Legal Services may be able to provide you with options to save your home. Services include.

  • FHA Loss Mitigation Programs
  • Foreclosure Process and get details on the Mediation Program in Nevada
  • Loss Mitigation options under the Making Home Affordable Program
  • For homeowners who have lost their homes, they can even receive help, including post foreclosure questions on evictions, learn about tax implications, and deficiency judgments.
