Midland County Texas tenants and homeless individuals (or families) can get emergency rental assistance or free legal aid to stop an eviction. The homeless, unemployed, oil workers who need to move and others may get financial help to pay for a security deposit or placement into transitional housing. They focus on Ector County but also cover parts of Midland County. They work to offer low cost, affordable and safe housing units in the region, including apartments, senior housing, and places for women and children.

Midland City and County Housing Authority
They operate public housing and section 8 rent subsidized housing choice vouchers. Both have waiting lists. Assistance programs range from homeless shelters to emergency rent, security deposit, and energy bill help. Case workers also assist the low income, poor, single mothers and elderly among others. Needs addressed are wide ranging, and there may also be free furniture in Midland County, clothes, motel vouchers and other resources – in addition to help with rent.

Helping Hands of Midland is a regional, faith based group. A variety of social services are offered, including a few dollars for rent. Shelter and transitional housing program
