Free food pantries and groceries Merced County.

Find free food pantries, soup kitchens and grocery programs across Merced County. A number of charities, churches and social service agencies provide emergency assistance to individuals as well as families. The free food distribution centers near you are open limited hours and try to provide free groceries or food to all applicants, but this is not always possible. Therefore, many will also try to offer referrals to other non-profits, churches, soup kitchens or agencies that may be able to assist. Also find a phone number at the bottom of the page for more resources in Merced County.

In general, the food pantries will only offer help once a month or every several weeks. Or get help from Meals on Wheels or voucher programs in Mercer County. Each location has their own process in place.

However these are not long term solutions for families living in poverty. In those cases a Merced County family may be better served by government benefits such as WIC vouchers or CalFresh Food stamps.
