Applications can be submitted in person, online, or over the phone, depending on the agency. A major focus is on providing rent payment help, including emergency assistance, to single parents (mothers or fathers), seniors, or disabled people in Kootenai County. Either grants or loans to help with back rent payments are offered, or residents will be referred to low-income apartments, section 8 vouchers, or free lawyers for Coeur d’Alene area tenants.

Heart of the City Church

Assistance, including for rent, is for tenants in of Post Falls, Rathdrum, and the county. Free grants will also help pay utility bills or water costs to a landlord. Priority is for seniors, single mothers, the disabled and working poor who need money for housing costs or other support, including furniture.

The charity is part of SVDP in Kootenai County. Apply for rent assistance, free furniture vouchers, appliances for a low-income apartment and more. The charity helps people close to, or that are homeless.

Salvation Army social services
