Assistance is intended to stop homelessness. Maybe a family was faced with a job loss or unexpected bill, such as car repair or medical. This can often lead to housing challenges, especially for vulnerable individuals such as single moms or seniors. In these cases, the Iredell County Salvation Army will accept applications for housing assistance. There may be money to pay rent, a mortgage, or energy bill in a crisis.

Referrals are also accepted from other churches and social service agencies. Not only may financial aid be provided, but they also work with landlords to stop evictions or utility companies to help prevention disconnection of electric service for qualified low income families. Caseworkers will try to negotiate payment plans or other solutions.

Disaster relief is also given too. This will help Iredell County residents that are impacted by a fire, disaster, or some other event. The Salvation Army, and its team of volunteers, are often the first to respond. They give clothes, vouchers for motel rooms, water, and much more. So this is what is used during times of crisis.
