Get help from Interfaith of the Woodlands in Montgomery County.

Programs from Interfaith of the Woodlands help address a crisis that a family is facing. The staff from the charity also try to help the Montgomery County Texas family to become self-sufficient over the mid to long term. A holistic approach is taking to each applicant and to anyone that needs help in the community.

The resources they administer fall into a few different categories. There is a Hand Me Up Shop that sells items to the general public. Free child care development is also provided, along with limited financial aid from everything from rent to medications or utilities.

Interfaith’s Family Services can both guide and support each client’s efforts to become self-sufficient. There is money for paying a portion of bills (if qualified) and at the same time case managers try to strengthen his or her inherent dignity along with self-worth.

When possible, specific programs as part of FS are as follows. Prescription Drug Assistance can help with obtaining medications for those without medical insurance. There are also funds for rent, paying  mortgage, security deposits and utilities. Free gasoline vouchers may be offered for work, and some people may enroll into Emergency Transitional Shelter. More basic, emergency needs are met by the Interfaith Food Pantry. There is also free clothing vouchers, redeemable the Interfaith Hand Me Up Shop, Holiday GIVING which is gifts to families during the holiday season, and free items and assistance from Kits 4 Kidz School Supplies. The Nutrition Every Weekend provides backpacks to low income students that will be filled with nutritious meals for children in the Conroe Independent School District to eat over each weekend.

Information and Referral Services connect Montgomery County residents, regardless of their situation, with needed area resources. Example will be voting information, support groups, and community events. The program also operates a free medical equipment loan service that is open to the general public. They also operate a volunteer service. This gives residents the opportunity to assist with various projects at Interfaith of the Woodlands to fulfill their court appointed community service hours.

Montgomery County individuals and families who are in need of assistance with obtaining adequate food are encouraged to visit the Interfaith of the Woodlands Pantry. All groceries and food is donated by generous community members or in the form of End Hunger Bags that are available for purchase at Kroger in Cochran’s Crossing. Other locations to donate include HEB on Market Street, Kroger in Indian Springs, HEB in Indian Springs, and Randalls in Grogan’s Mill.

 

 

 

For those that contribute, all bags purchased are brought directly to the Pantry. Interfaith is always in need of more donations, and they greatly appreciate all goods. Some of the highest demand food items are Oatmeal, Canned or Powdered Milk, Canned Vegetables, Pasta and Sauce, Cleaning Supplies, Paper Products, Canned Fruit and Fruit Juices, Formula, Cereal, Grocery Store Gift Cards, and Diapers. Interfaith of the Woodlands Hand Me Up Shop is one of the leading thrift stores in Montgomery County. The location has in stock gently-used, quality clothing for the entire family. Or shoppers can obtain  boutique items; toys; housewares; home decor; books and furniture. All merchandise is usually in decent condition and priced affordable.

Resources for seniors and parents needing child care

The Interfaith Child Development Center is for children and their development. It offers a variety of quality programs, including partial and all-day preschool, a Before and After-School Program, and Mother’s Day Out for children in kindergarten through fourth grade. It also coordinates summer camps.

The professional teaching staff provides a caring, secure, safe and welcoming environment in which children are encouraged to grow. Combined with low student-to-teacher ratios at the development center, the literature-based curriculum ensures that each student of the facility receives the best education and care. The Child Development Center serves hundreds of children per year.

Interfaith Senior Services programs promote and support adults from Montgomery County Texas aged 62 and older. It works by providing quality care and wellness programs. These resources provide guidance as well as referral services that facilitate independent living and enhance the quality of life of the elderly living in Interfaith’s service area.

Some of the support for the elderly is as follows. Caregiver Conferences are held, and these are workshops and resources for those caring for loved ones. There is also Information and Referral from Interfaith. These include guidance in regard to in-home care, housing, government benefit options and money saving programs for seniors and caregivers. Senior Transportation is also arranged, and this will be rides to medical appointments and the grocery store.

 

 

 

 

Interfaith Workforce Services has been assisting job seekers and employers with their employment-related needs for over 20 years. The program runs numerous career offices Montgomery County. They also have a regional financial aid customer support center, ensuring that comprehensive employment services continue to be available. Workshops cover ESL classes, Job Leads, Resume Creation, Referrals, Personal Interview Training, Job Search Skills Training, as well as Outplacement Services and Career Counseling.
