Free Christmas and holiday help in Rankin, Hinds, and Madison County.
There are several non-profits, charities and churches to apply at for holiday help in the Hinds County Mississippi region. Most of the assistance provided is at Christmas, and this is when the organizations will give free toys to children, small presents, and other Christmas gifts. The charities, which cover Rankin and Madison County in the city of Jackson MS, also run the Angel Tree as well as Toys for Tots program or provide free food at Thanksgiving or other holidays, such as Easter.
Each of the organizations will require the parents of the child to register. Or if the applicant is a senior citizen, then they too can request a free meal. For Thanksgiving, the registration period is usually during September or October, and the Christmas programs also accept applications around then.
Help is also generally offered first come and served. This is when the largest number of toys, games, books, clothing, free food or groceries and more is available for the kid. Central Mississippi Free Toys for Tots
This program covers the entire region, including Jackson MS city and suburban area, Hinds County, Madison, Rankin and others. Children can get free toys such as Legos, tablets, clothes, shoes, trucks or dolls, video games, books, and more. Catholic Charities of Jackson Region
Various churches participate and cover all counties in the metro area. Seasonal help, such as free Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas food baskets are offered. There are clothes, small stocking stuffers for kids, furniture, and gift cards or financial help. They assist the poor, single mothers, elderly and others during the holidays, regardless of religion.
