Help with rent in Fort Smith Arkansas MSA area.

The Fort Smith Arkansas region has several housing assistance programs available. They range from referrals to rent assistance, government grants, homeless shelters, and also low income apartments or housing. Since the city covers a wide area, the charity, churches or government agencies can provide emergency rental or security deposit assistance or referrals to residents of the counties including Crawford, Sebastian, Logan and Franklin in the state of Arkansas as well as the counties of Sequoyah and LeFlore in Oklahoma.

Note most of the charities as well as non-profits have very limited or even no funding. Most of the assistance available is via referrals. This means a struggling low income tenant (or senior citizen, single mom, or even Native American) may be referred to a local rent assistance program. Or other resources will be explored, such as cash loans, free legal aid, and more. Find resources for rent, energy bill, security deposit, and other help in Fort Smith below.
