Baldwin County Alabama free food pantries.

Various free, emergency food pantries as well as soup kitchens across Baldwin County Alabama provide free groceries, meals, and hygiene supplies. There is assistance from churches, charities, and government benefit programs for low income families. Find free food banks near you below, as well as some locations that offer clothing and furniture, when available. The support can be provided from vouchers or some centers offer direct distribution of food to needy families and individuals. Also find a phone number at the bottom of the page for more hunger prevention resources.

Some food pantries and centers offer vouchers. These are given out and intended for the use of clients who cannot even afford the prices of paying for groceries in the community, or who can’t afford to buy items from local thrift stores. Vouchers will be used only to provide clients with the essentials to both feed and clothe themselves and their families. They can also help people with establishing or maintaining a household. Most can be used for the one time purchase of food, clothes, toys, and provides spiritual counseling to anyone who needs help.

While free food and meals may be offered to almost all, clothing is limited to essential school or work items such as underwear, shirts, pants, skirts, everyday dresses, and shoes. Household goods distributed will be limited to such items as blankets, pots, pans, utensils, dishes, glasses, towels, and sheets.

Thrift stores are also located across the region. If a certain item is needed and can’t be obtained from a church or food pantry, a phone call can be made to the Baldwin County Thrift Store to see if the item is available. Due to the low prices and also the demand of items, limits are placed on the three categories of goods available through use of the free vouchers.
