Etowah County free holiday and Christmas assistance.

Less fortunate families in Etowah County can seek assistance during Christmas, the Easter holiday, and Thanksgiving as well. The programs available to them, ranging from Angel Tree to Toys for tots, can provide free Christmas toys for a child, holiday meals for an entire family, clothing, and even home delivered meals for a senior citizen. The leading charities to call to apply at for help are below.

Toys such as bikes, dolls, electronics or games may be offered. Christmas meals or food baskets at Thanksgiving are often available at the churches referenced, and they may contain a turkey or some other meat for the family. There are also charities in Etowah County that hold Christmas parties, and these allow people to drop in at to experience holiday joy with friends, family, and their peers. Applications are taken at these local Gadsden and Etowah County agencies for assistance.

The non-profit helps children under the age of 12. Small toys, meals, and other aid is provided. Applicants need a picture ID. There is also an Adopt a Family program, vouchers for buying Turkeys, gift cards, and other assistance. To apply, stop in at the Rainbow City Fire or Police Dispatch office. The working poor and kids are supported around the Christmas holiday. Donated gifts are given to them from this resource.
