Free clothing closets, furniture, and school supplies Essex County Massachusetts.

Free clothes, household goods, beds, furniture, household goods, back to school supplies and more stuff may be available in Essex County. Several non-profit clothing closets, community action agencies, and furniture banks can either provide direct assistance to qualified low income and struggling households. Or the centers may direct qualified residents to local clothing or free furniture banks or thrift stores, where they may be provided a voucher.

The types and amount of items will vary throughout the year. For example, during the winter, items such as Christmas assistance, boots, and winter coats may be offered. During the summer, school supplies and uniforms for the upcoming year may be passed out. There are also work uniforms, household furniture or kitchen supplies as well as other stuff for children (or adults). While not as common, some of the clothing closets may offer financial aid or maybe even free food. The centers in Lowell and Essex County Massachusetts provide some form of assistance to thousands of unemployed, low income, and other families.

Community Action, Inc.
This is a leading non-profit in Essex County. They operate from many different offices in the region. They can help meet basic needs and assist with oncoming poverty. Get referrals to clothing closets, government benefits, and agencies that provide Christmas assistance. Other support is offered too. Students can get free books, educational supplies, book bags and other items. Low and moderate income residents and seniors can get help in securing basic resources such as housing, food, and clothing.

The organization is a multi-service, non-profit. They run neighborhoods program for the Merrimack Courts Housing Project in the lower Tower Hill area of Lawrence, MA. LEO, or Lynn Economic Opportunity Community Action
Lynn is the largest city in Essex County. They provide financial help for bills as well as free “stuff” in a crisis.
