Get information on government programs such as health care, free food pantries and banks, and other forms of aid. For example, commodities are offered as a once-a-month supply of federal government surplus foods available for low-income families and individuals in the region. Some of the other programs they may be able to help with include Medicare and Medicaid, and the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing Program. Northwest Colorado Council of Governments runs, among other things, the Weatherization Program, which is a free government funded service for low-income as well as working poor residents of Colorado.
