Help for rent, energy bills, and other financial aid
Salvation Army of Edwards Colorado offers several forms of financial assistance. Get help with paying rent, utility and energy bills, and a food pantry. Food and nutrition is offered to low-income families. Usually focuses on people facing an eviction, or a disconnection of their utilities. 970-926-3704
The Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) is run by the local Social Services office. Call 1-800-225-6136. The local government office, and in particular the LIHEAP program, may be able to help needy Colorado residents pay their winter utility and heating bills. In addition the Social Services office can provide other assistance. In particular information and referrals. Get information on government programs such as health care, free food pantries and banks, and other forms of aid. For example, commodities are offered as a once-a-month supply of federal government surplus foods available for low-income families and individuals in the region. Some of the other programs they may be able to help with include Medicare and Medicaid, and the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing Program.
