Dorchester County food pantries.

Emergency food pantries serve residents of the towns in Dorchester County. Families, senior citizens, and children that are living on a low income or in a crisis can get help. The pantries may offer everything from free boxes of food to groceries and personal hygiene products. Many centers also provide basic needs including clothing or gently used furniture.

In addition to given out some food, they offer a wealth of information on applying for federal or state of South Carolina benefits. Case managers will offer linkage to SNAP food stamps as well as vouchers from WIC. They can go over the application process, and notify families what to bring. This may be proof of income, residency, and hardship.

The Dorchester County food banks also offer seasonal support as well as Meals on Wheels. Whether it is a box of food at Thanksgiving, food at Christmas or Easter, or other support, help is available.
