Food banks are located across the region of Jefferson and Dodge County. Not only can a struggling family turn to these pantries for support, but there is also a referral service to call to locate a center that may be more convenient to the resident. Based on income and other qualifications, families may receive everything from a free box of food to holiday meals or personal hygiene items.
Some of the pantries in the area will also have volunteers or case workers on site. These individuals can provide referrals to long term support. So truly struggling families can apply for SNAP food stamps or single or new mothers may benefit from WIC vouchers. There may also be financial aid and other social service in Jefferson County.
