A leading non-profit organization is Crossroads. They are a community action agency that is run privately and covers the region of Kent, Bristol, Newport, Providence, and Washington Rhode Island. The organization relies on funds from the government as well as other donors.

This Community Room provides a place where they can keep their personal belongings safe, get protection from the harsh elements of winter, and offers a free laundry facilities and showers. Another job training resource is Get Hired!, which is the non-profit community action agencies Intensive Pre-employment Program. It offers adult education services and vocational job training.
The Dental and Health care center at Crossroads offers medical and dental treatment to those uninsured and homeless people. Clients can get check ups, cleanings, free dental care, low cost prescription medications, OB/GYN and even mental health counsel.
