Several churches across Clay County partner together as part of Love Inc. The faith based charity was created in an effort to help the poor and disadvantaged. There are services for senior citizens, the disabled, and families that are struggling. While most of the support from their ministries revolve around needs such as clothing, furniture, or food, in some cases a local church that is part of Love will have financial assistance.
The support is offered across denominational lines, regardless of religion, faith, or age. The charity will help people in need in that reside in the local area or parish. Many volunteers help the Love Inc. charity work in the region, and without their support the organization would not be able to help the needy. Emergency help for financial needs from Clay County LOVE
Limited amounts of emergency assistance may be offered from the center at 2050 Plumbers Way, Liberty, Missouri 64068, based on funding. The phone number is (816) 781-3200. This will be for income qualified residents that are facing an eviction, are out of heat or that may have their utilities disconnected. The charity may therefore have funds for a partial energy bill or rent payment. Or there may be referrals to government aid such as LIHEAP, or the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
All applications for monetary assistance are reviewed on a case by case basis, and funds are limited. Most people will be turned away. Also, the Clay County Love Inc. organization will require applicants to be able to pay their rent or other bills on their own in the future, so therefore the funds are more for people with a one-time emergency that are otherwise self-sufficient.
Proof of income, residence, wages, and other information is required as well. Most of the support is for individuals whose income is at or below 150% of the Federal Government Income Poverty Guidelines, but who also have a plan in place to improve their financial situation over time.

There are many other basic needs provided by the Clay County Love INC. The churches and ministries may be able to offer some or all of the following to those that are struggling, including the underemployed.

Personal hygiene items and other essentials include toiletry, shampoo, soap, and other items for people that can't afford to purchase their own goods.
Senior services – The elderly in Clay County can receive a home delivered meal, or maybe transportation to a doctor appointment or other critical location.
Minor home repairs - Volunteers from Love or a local church may help with handicap ramp construction, minor plumbing work, roof patching, and other repairs needed to keep a home safe and affordable.
