Central southern Michigan free holiday assistance.
Holiday programs, including assistance for Christmas and Thanksgiving, is available for qualified low income families in the central Michigan region. Several agencies provide free Christmas gifts, process Toys for Tots applications, offer food or Angel Tree services and other holiday support. There is assistance from charities, non-profits and churches, focus on helping families, seniors, and especially children.
There are application processes in place and most of the services are provided on a first come and served basis. What may be offered includes toys, games, gift cards and clothing for children. Many sites will also serve Thanksgiving and Christmas meals and provide turkeys as well. The centers can help children and families in counties such as Hillsdale, Livingston, and Jackson. Call a non-profit or center below to see how they may be able to help at Christmas.
The Salvation Army has several locations in the region. A number of social services and assistance may be available. The locations can provide free Christmas baskets of food and a holiday toy for children ages 14 and under. Other programs can include Angel Tree, Adopt a Family and more. Thanksgiving meals may be served too. The locations may also have warm winter clothing as needed.
