Allen County food banks, soup kitchens and free pantries.

Low to moderate income families can turn to food pantries in Allen County for help. The organizations, most of which were set up as non-profits, can also assist residents that are facing an emergency shortage in their monthly food supply. They also refer clients to many other social services in the Lima Ohio area. The hours and application process vary by pantry, but the leading centers in the community are below.

The various locations depend on the generosity of the community. This means without donations of surplus USDA commodities or the contributions of local restaurants and grocery stores, these pantries would not be able to operate. Due to the resource constraints they have, they will often limit how many times a family can use a food pantry.

For more information, try a center below. If one is not near where a resident lives, there may be referrals to other Allen County locations provided. Or they will link clients with other options, such as soup kitchens, holiday meal programs, or food stamp application sites.
