Where is here? Almost all programs are local or state specific. Even more so when dealing with unemployment. So you left SC and went where? Until then, try this for financial help in your state, as that is a directory of state and even some national resources.

Re: Unemployment not enough for bills
To whom it may concern: I am in desperate need of some help as we are living off of unemployment. Me and my family have just moved up here from SC, and we are currently living in a very small camper on some family members property. It is me, my husband, our nephew, our two small children ages 9 and 7 along with my therapy dog because I am bipolar.
We came up here to try and start a new life on unemployment but could only carry some small possessions and a few clothes. We had planned to be able to go back to SC to get the rest of our things, but we had car trouble. We traded the car for a bigger vehicle just to get around but it needs some small fixing and we don't have the money right now. We also just found out that some family members back in SC that we had a disagreement with burned everything we left behind including my children's clothes and toys.
We have had nothing but seemingly very bad luck at each turn since we have arrived, and we are on a very low-income as I draw 722 dollars a month. There is five of us plus the dog and it is very hard to make ends meet. Can you help us with finding a place to live, or helping with our car, and most especially with Christmas. My kids will not be able to have one if we cannot get help. I don't know what to do. Can you please help?

Yes, that is several things. Well try one of the charities or state programs in Arkansas, as there are several options for you. Each of them have their own requirements as well as application processes in place. Note the hardest thing for you to get (which you mention) may be the gas vouchers.

Try some of the other programs out there. As if you have a "professional" job, that will help your application for aid. There are charities, non-profits, etc. While unemployment is a form of free government money, it is time limited. And the amount of assistance is limited too. So try one of the many other programs out there.

Re: Unemployment not enough for bills
Good Morning,
I am a single mother with one main source of income and also unemployment coming in the door from my mom. My household count is now two. Just me and my son who is a senior in High School and is looking forward to going to college in June 2016 to play football and baseball while majoring in Broadcasting/Communication. I have two grandbabies age 4 and 7 that I keep every weekend. I need help with paying my rent of$1,270.86 or with my current car insurance $196, or with my car note now almost three payments behind at $191.00 each.
My rental Management agreed not to evict us but to allow me to pay November rent on December 12th and December rent on December 26th! Once paid, there will not be enough for Tithes, food, gas, car note/insurance, Power Bill (SHUT OFF NOTICE), or Christmas gifts & Dinner for my family!
I have attached a copy of some of my debt as well as my mom's unemployment checks that I have sent to my job for assistance with my medical bills. If you can help in any way, I will be very grateful! I prayed and did not know where to go for help and found your information online. I have an appointment with JCCEO for February 13th for my power bill but need help ASAP!
Even though I know it is late, my Christmas wish list: My 17 year old son want a couple of polo shirts with Levi’s Jeans, my grandbabies love children’s learning books, games and babies! Mom: pay my November rent $635.43!
I have not because I’ve asked not. It would be nice to have my empty living room filled with furniture and to get our beds off the floor!

To Whom It May Concern:
I am weary but still researching for the only mere benefit of my three children. If it were only myself and, my husband I would live in my car. However, we are from Orlando, FL and moved into a condo in the 32808 zip code back in February of last year (2014). My husband was laid off from his job in August.
I was currently the only one still employed. However, on June 2015 I had a severe leg injury to my left leg. In this injury it forced me to be out of work and care for my family. I kept in constant contact with our landlord. I was advised to contact 211 for rental help to be sure our family would not be homeless or faced with the weight of where will we live? Upon reaching out to 211 we were given an appointment for July 2015.
At this appointment we brought all documents needed as they requested and, that following Monday we were told, “We were approved for rental help and, electric bill help.” THANK GOD! But, our family was only to hear good news to be faced with our landlord stating that he would NOT accept my August payment for July 23rd and he started the eviction on July 8th, 2015.
I responded to the courts in a letter explaining the unfortunate circumstances my family has endured. Re: Unemployment not enough for bills
I am a single mom with 2 kids, and pregnant. I would like to see if there would be anyway to see if you could help me with my rent. I lost my job and am behind on car, SDGE, water. I have been seeking assistance's for a little a couple of months now. On Wednesday I received a 3 day notice to pay or quit. I just moved into this place. I feel horrible but my unemployment keeps stopping. I only have until tomorrow and they start the processes. I have had some real hard times this year. I have lost everything.

Well sounds like the first thing you need is food. The government has programs and there are other options too like pantries and food banks. Since you are a senior then look into other resources including Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program or the emergency food assistance program. Then the site also has numerous other non-profits and charities listed for those needs. Find details on food assistance.

Re: Unemployment not enough for bills
I am disabled and recently divorced I am having some difficulty getting the spousal support ordered and have been surviving on $491 a month. I own a single wide mobile in need of repairs and have fallen behind on my space rent which is $240.00 a month. I currently am two months behind. I have applied for weatherization but the waiting list is long. My food stamps were cut from $160 a month to sixteen dollars and only received $100 in spousal support at a loss of $69.00. I am getting more and more concerned and have no family to rely on and am unemployed. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

Keep trying to work. That is great of you. For other options, read more on Newark NJ rental assistance programs and agencies. http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/new ... tance.html
That is great of your landlord to reduce your rent as well, as most will not do that. On the site you will find information on both rental and utility programs to look into and call for financial help.

I do once in a while make a little money playing music, but my hands hurt so much I can't play much anymore. I just applied for Social Security, a reduced rate because I am 61. I need help with my rent. I was paying 1300 a month, but the landlord agreed to drop it to 1100. I am not behind because I have been borrowing a lot of money just to pay bills. Is there a rent and utilities assistance program I can take advantage of? I live with my girlfriend and she makes grosses 88 dollars per week. Can you help me? Or lead me to where I can get some help? I live in Newark NJ.

Re: Unemployment not enough for bills
If you are saying you were lied to and employer has ripped you off, then try suing them. Income qualified people can get free legal aid and support. Find free legal assistance for your state of Florida. http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/flo ... tance.html Most agencies will handle cases like that...employer issues. Good luck, and make some calls.

We can help you get help with bills in rent in Alameda County. That is a difficult story, but you seem to be resilient and keep fighting to try to make your life better and get ahead with those expenses. Find our Oakland and Alameda County assistance programs and non-profit agencies to help people make it through challenging times. As just one example, call Spectrum Community Services Inc. at 510-881-0300, which offers a bunch of low-income grants and assistance programs for residents.

Re: Unemployment not enough for bills
Yes, most community action agencies will only offer limited help, and can't ask multiple times. That being said you can call them and ask. Maybe they can't give you money, but they can maybe provide information on other local churches, agencies, non-profits to call. Or even federal government programs. Look into assistance programs Allegheny County. Off the top of my head there are options like Action Housing (phone (412) 281-2102), the Urban League of Pittsburgh (call (412) 681-1110) and other agencies as well.

Re: Unemployment not enough for bills
I agree that $400 month is not enough to pay rent or bills. You definitely need to increase that income level. In the meantime here is a listing of agencies and non-profits in the Philly area that may have services for you. Places like the Urban League of Philadelphia may even offer job training or career counseling, resume review services, and aid like that. Call them at (215) 985-3220, and use this link for more information and assistance programs.
