Here is information on debt elimination and settlement. So you can get the background here, then call a non-profit in your area to learn how to apply and to get more details. Read more on debt settlement and assistance programs. http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/deb ... ment_.html
Lending Club is more of a peer to peer company, so their services are different and not really elimination but probably more of a lower interest loan.

Also, please mail me some information about legitimate "work at home companies", like, online survey companies and data entry jobs. I NEED TO GET OUT OF DEBT AND MAKE EXTRA MONEY. My eyes bother me a lot so looking at the computer causes problems and I cannot print. I would appreciate any assistance that you can give me.

That is a significant amount of credit card debt. Did you call the police and have brother arrested. Do so immediately, as if he really stole the money he should go to jail. Call the credit card companies and tell them what happened. Maybe they will set up payment plans. In addition, look into credit card hardship programs. These are formal plans that the credit card company will enter into with customers to help them get ahead on paying various bills off.

Good idea on telling your friend to call a church. They are usually a good resource. However if they does have all that debt and old bills, she does need to look into some type of consolidation or debt management plan. The best place to start is to have her speak to a new york credit counselor for free advice, consultations, budgeting support, etc. The best places to call are on the main page which link we just sent.

She could not even get that amount and it is really worth practically nothing. She has maxed out two credit cards and living on food handouts, and has other debts to her name I told her to contact her church - but even if they gave her a loan, what would she use to pay back the loan on a monthly basis. She was sick from the heat a few days ago. Call me, her friend - she if in her early 60's and too proud to be for charity. But, she needs help and I am worried about her. thank you

That monthly fee sounds high. Was the organization a not for profit debt relif/settlement company? You may want to look into one of these. Usually the fees are lower, or may even be waived if your income is low enough. We have a listing of states and credit counseling agencies on the main site. Also find extensive background on debt settlement companies and the services they offer, as well as pros and cons of them.

We contacted a debt relief company and also looked into doing a chapter 13 but we need help paying the monthly fee that would be around $750 a month for a 4 or 5 year term. If you guys could do anything to help us we would really appreciate it. I google helping cancer patients and I found your website.

We always say the best option for anyone is to call a not for profit credit counseling agency. Many of them can provide free consultations. After that initial visit, you can receive assistance from debt management plans, foreclosure prevention, and much more. Many programs are free or low cost. So they can help you deal with those loans and debts too.

Are you a member of a credit union? If not, look into signing up for one. They offer short term, lower interest rate loans. They are not payday loans, but they are a much lower cost alternative. I think it would be a feasible option to sign up for a credit union, get those lower interest rate loans, and then use the money to pay off those credit card bills and debts. It was a good idea to call those churches too. Credit union loans is the place to go to read more on this product.

I have tried local churches and organizations but most have limited funds. Also, how can I get rid of the debt and start anew?

Is it all medical debt, or a combination of credit card, medical, and other types? If it is credit cards, I always recommend a hardship program. You need to call your credit card companies and ask about these and negotiate a plan. If medical debts, put off paying these until last as hospitals and doctors are the least aggressive in trying to collect on it. Here is a comprehensive listing of debt help programs and resources.

Sounds like you need some holistic debt and financial counseling. Various non-profit agencies and credit counselors may be able to help you. Many of the agencies are national as well, so can help you where ever you live. Also maybe call your banks or lenders.
Use this link for many debt programs.
http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/hel ... _debt.html

As far as your other expenses, just navigate around the main site needhelppayingbills to get information on rent programs, utility assistance, and even some jobs and income info. Because that $100 per week will not get you very far.

I have no medical insurance,I was laid off months ago, I have been searching for jobs, I was able to get a part-time job however that is only commission based and I'm lucky if I make 100.00 every two weeks. I'm still looking for another part-time job to supplement my income. But until then the I'm drowning in debt.

I have never been in this situation before, I don't know who to contact or who to speak with to help me get through this month and possibly next month. I'm in desperate need of some temporary financial assistance, and some longer term debt counseling or support.

Can you please give me the information I need ??? I would greatly appreciate it, more than you could understand.

You can reach me via e-mail

While really need more information on your exact situation to provide extensive help, I think a couple options are talk to a credit counselor. Also, have you thought of consolidating or settling your debts? Here is information and a comparison of debt settlement and consolidation programs. Both can be very effective.
