Re: Anyone help pay storage costs in California?
Hello, I am in Los Angeles and I need assistance paying for arrears on my storage unit. Please. I have less than 24 hours before my personal items are sold in an auction. I haven't been able to find work but in line for housing. I need to keep my items for my use when I move into my place. Thank you.

Re: Anyone help pay storage costs in California?
I'm looking for some rental assistance for my storage unit. I live in northern California. I'm currently going through a hardship. My boyfriend started his new job last week and we don't get paid for 2 more weeks. I've managed to get all but $200 for our first months rent and am struggling to find the balance and current months rent. I owe $950 as of today. Plus $250 for storage, which has been locked by the owner. I'm looking for some immediate local resources.

Re: Need rental assistance fast/California
Good afternoon,
I am a resident of Sonoma county California and am about a month and half behind in my rent. I m looking for some resources for rent assistance that will provide the money fast before I am evicted. I work about 5 part time jobs but have gotten behind when the work has slowed.
Is there any way I can be helped in a fast manner?
Thank you in advance for the information,
Jen

Hi TammyTerrance wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 10:59 am Hi there,
I literally just got housed this month in Los Angeles after being homeless and living in my car for almost a year, and I think/hope/pray I might have figured out a solution to get movers. However, my latest problem is trying to get my storage units paid for today so my stuff doesn't go to auction.
Do you know any churches or organizations that might be able to help me in California or LA County? Tammy
There are a couple programs and options for you. As far as your "statewide" question, try CalWorks homeless prevention. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... nce_r.html
For local places in LA County that may help with storage, try this for resources. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... tance.html

Anyone help pay storage costs in California?
Hi there,
I literally just got housed this month in Los Angeles after being homeless and living in my car for almost a year, and I think/hope/pray I might have figured out a solution to get movers. However, my latest problem is trying to get my storage units paid for today so my stuff doesn't go to auction.
Do you know any churches or organizations that might be able to help me in California or LA County? I have reached out to everyone on every list and even 211 said that they were baffled because they were always able to help people with at least 1 referral but could find nothing for me whatsoever.
Most charities or churches I called said they don't help with storage unit bills and the one I found that does help with storage unit bills (St. Vincent de Paul) said they are all out of money. Ironically I can't even get through to Catholic Charities (I've been trying for almost 2 weeks now) and I'm Catholic! I even called my old church in Northglenn, and no one has called or emailed me back.
I need to sell quite a bit of stuff that is in them which will be incredibly helpful for getting caught up on bills, but I need help getting to the actual items in the storage unit. I am currently locked out of my storage units until they receive payment.
I feel like I can't win. My entire life here from my time in California is in those units and I will be completely beyond devastated if my units go up for auction.
Please, please, please let me know if you can help me today.
Thank you,
Tammy

Re: California rental programs
Hi Heather,
There are many agencies in Orange county CA you can try for rent and housing assistance. Now each organization will of course have different funding and application processes, but you can look for them and apply here for rent payment help in Orange County. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... progr.html

I am willing to relocate for more promising assistance and opportunities. I do have a job here in Orange county.
I also saw a section about advertising for....assistance*? How does that work? I'm open to anything that generates income or links to assistance.

Re: California rental programs
Hi, my name is Leyla and I currently live in Anaheim, California. I'm in dire need of rental assistance, but I can't find an organization or charity that helps with my city. I have called over 30 places, including 211 and I just hit a wall. I live alone in an apartment in Anaheim and I'm unable to pay my rent.
I injured my neck and back in a car accident, so I'm also having trouble finding a job I can physically do. I applied for disability but I haven't gotten an update on that yet. My lease is up in June and if I resign my lease, they will be increasing my rent by $110 (I currently pay $1,505). My parents were helping pay my rent and bills for the past 2 months but they can no longer financially afford it as neither of them work anymore.
I've taken all the steps to look up and call resources in California to help me out with rent but the only response I get is that they don't have rental assistance programs for my area and they only serve South OC. I also have a student loan to pay, so I can't afford to go back to school until that's paid. This is the first time I'm asking for help. Can you help? Can you guide me to someone that can help? Sorry for the long message, I'm exhausted and desperate for help. Luckily I qualified for EBT, so at least I have that covered.

Hello
I have a question for rent help in California.
My aunt suddenly became a Widow. My uncle passed away on March 22. He was the main provider for the house.
They have a son which is 13 year old.
They pay $2,800 in rent in Castro Valley California.
My aunt will no be able to afford to live at this location anymore.
She had to pay rent for April and she can't afford it. Can you please let me know what is the fastest route for her to get rent assistance?
She only makes about 2,000 before taxes x month.
Her address is: Castro Valley Ca, 94546.
Her name is Julia and she is also disabled. Her phone number is:
I'm sending this email on her behalf and you can free to contact me as well.
My name is Ada Nunez. I'm her niece.

Re: California rental programs
Hello,
My name is Barbara Johnson, I'm a resident of Contra Costa County, Richmond, CA to be exact... I need assistance on pay past due rent due to the covid 19 pandemic and I had a water pipe burst in my apartment which was another down fall.
I would like to inquire if you all provide rental assistance or programs in California? I'm behind a month and a half of back rent. I'm grateful I was able to pay the full amount for the month of November 2021... I'm trying to figure out how to catch up and pay the past due amount I current owe.
I hope to hear from someone soon,

Re: Need rental assistance fast/California
The housing in San Jose is some of the most expensive (if not the most expensive) in the entire nation due to Silicon Valley. So there are some resources for you, including Santa Clara County rent assistance programs. They are all focused on helping people avoid eviction and/or get rehoused.

Re: Need rental assistance fast/California
If you are getting paid in 3 weeks, then some agency may offer one time rental assistance. It can help stop the eviction from occurring. So try them for rent help in Bakersfield. Also, they extend across Kern County California as well.

# days is not much time. But there are resources in San Francisco California, and they are listed here. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... stanc.html
You probably just waited way to long to request it.

M and my girlfriend are low income. She's pregnant as I suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. After the murder of my identical twin brother 5 years ago and the death of my wife last year.

Re: California rental programs
I need help with paying my deposit and first months rent in California. I sleep on my cousin couch. She is giving me thirty days to find me a place to stay.
I've been looking a ran across a few things but didn't have any money saved up for deposit nor first month's rent (I was jobless). I now found me a job that I've been on for almost 2 months now and I've been saving but I only have enough to pay for my utilities, so if I can just get help with that I'll keep everything up on my bills. I really need this.

Re: Rent assistance in California
if you are trying to get settled into Los Angeles from another state, then there are some places to try. However save your money for the rent or deposit while you live with those friends and family. But as far as the housing goes, trying this for information on rent help in Loa Angeles.
