Are you in Boone County? Doubt you can get help with storage or moving? If friend messed you up on move why not just go back to Oregon? Anyway, if you are in Boone County the website has stuff you can try here https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... ogra2.html
But you also imply close to homeless and when I google the county has a resource hotline too https://www.boonecountyky.org/departmen ... ources.php

I tried to work off and on my whole life, but due to the skeletal conditions I live with, I never lasted long, so I only qualify for SSI. My husband is a disabled veteran and only gets $108 a month after they keep $25 a month toward all his medications. Then, in July of 2023, he started SSD. After 2 ½ years of dealing with Social Security, they kept the 2 ½ years of his back pay, which would have put us on top again. He now gets $1,645 from Social Security.

Unfortunately, this money goes to trying to survive and a storage unit in Oregon, which we could not afford to bring to Kentucky. We also have one in Florence with things we could get here. We came here with an offer from a family member to help us get on our feet again, but it wasn’t meant to be taken seriously. Just words. Now we rotate between living in our car and living in a very horrible motel.

Boone County Housing Assistance said we qualify for help if we had a place. We found a place in Florence KY — a trailer. It is an old one, but in good condition, and it would work out for us. They want $3,500 as a down payment, and that is what we are having trouble coming up with. All we need is to get into a place before the cold weather sets in.

We would love a little extra to get our stuff here from Oregon and get a month ahead on our storage here, but just getting help with the down payment would be the most wonderful thing in the world. We are good people. We are not looking for a new place in an upscale community. Just a nice place in an older community that we know we would fit into. The trailer is a 1965, so like I said, we are not wanting help with something above our means. If we could rid ourselves of the storages, we would be just fine.

Please, tell us that you can help. Please. We are just so worried about our car situation. It’s having a lot of problems, the tags are going to be expired, and insurance is due on the 9th. We are willing to get insurance with one of those really cheap places. We just need a home and a place to park.

Thank you so much for any help you can give. To most people, $3,500 isn’t much, but to us it is no different than $35,000. And to think this sort of small amount would get us off the streets, let me get insurance, and get my 3rd total hip—it would give us a second chance at life. I thought I would try you. I heard this is the type of case you deal with.

God bless.

Would you also like me to prepare a condensed version of this letter? That way, if you’re sending it to charities, churches, or housing programs, it’s easier for them to read quickly and respond.

Hey good afternoon this is Erica. I live in Kentucky and I'm looking for some assistance with my light bill, food and other resources that y'all can provide me with or help me. I've never done this before so I've never needed help to pay for anything so I'm new at this. But if you can reach out to me as soon as possible with programs that will help me pay the bills and get food that would be great. Thank you and have a great day.

$300 is not a lot of money. There may be help in Kentucky for you. Find resources.
But you need a job. There are tons of positions in Louisville as well as other nearby towns and cities.

We have tried every way to keep are bills and rent caught up the landlord is wanting rent today 12/16/15 before the end of the day. We are trying to see if he could wait for a couple more days till I can figure something out. I'm stressing out and my wife is stressed and I am running out of ways of coming up with the money for everything.

It depends on what bills you need help paying. But there are programs in Lexington that you can try. There are also clinics for medical care too. But you really need a job too.

I just turned 20. My mother died when I was 18, and my father is on drugs. I have worked hard since I was 17 years old, but I cannot get on my feet. I want to move out of the house in Louisville Kentucky with my father; he is incredibly irresponsible. He steals my money and spends it on drugs; leaves the power and water bills unpaid and spends money on narcotics instead. I feel hopeless, helpless, and ashamed, and I just need help getting on my feet. My life is an everyday struggle filled with stress and resentment. I only want to better my life; get my life started. Thank you.

If you owe $1500 in rent, then sorry to say you have waited too long in asking for help. The best thing to do is open up the line of communication early, before you even miss a payment or before you even think you may struggle. However we do have information on places to try for help in Jefferson County Kentucky for housing. Why can't you get food stamps in Kentucky if your income is too low. Anyway, try this for information on rental and other assistance. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... e_pr8.html

I receive $300 per month in child support, food stamps for food and Medicaid for medical insurance for my son and I. I have to pay a storage unit to keep what little possessions and vehicle insurance on my car each month. By the time I pay these two items and put gas in the car just to go to my doctor and therapy appointments each month, I am left with basically nothing to live on.
I suffer from a variety of medical conditions, including asthma, sever anxiety, severe depression, panic attacks, etc. and have filed for disability benefits in Kentucky, but as I am sure you know this is a lengthy process. My therapist has told me that there are agencies or organizations that would come out and get us hooked up properly so that the camper is habitable and safe from a fire hazard but I have no idea where to start.
Can your organization help me at all or provide me with the information of who might? I have called the local Salvation Army office and my town in Kentucky and left a message for them, but have yet to hear back. I have phone numbers for a few other places that I will try to call next, but I am having difficulty knowing where to turn.
Please help.

Places for help in Kentucky

Post by F Smith »

My Fiancé and I rent out his parents house for the monthly price of $575. However soon they will be selling this house and we need to find a new home in Kentucky. We have not been able to save any money because my Fiancé is the only one who works while I stay home with our one year old son. I would be out there working too if we had someone else to watch our son or if we could afford daycare. We are barely able to live paycheck by paycheck and are often late with our bills due to shortage of money. We really need assistance in finding a new affordable home for our family but we have no idea how to start. Any information or help you could give us would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

I am a disabled single 49 year old lady. My daughter moved out of state in June 2013. We shared expenses since my mother passed in 2008. I was to get someone to live with me to help with housing coasts. Was trying to find roomate. Got behind in my rent and utilities cause was by myself. Have fallen 800.00 behind in rent alone and 700.00 more due 09/13. My landlord has been real good about money but still needs to be paid. I give what I can to all house hold expenses but just don’t make enough to pay all. My daughter moved back to try to help but has high risk pregnancy and is having hard time finding employment. Can only get medical food stamps right now. We have no family or anyone who can help us. We have no money to move on since my whole check goes to whatever I can pay. Please if you could help me find someplace that could help me with the rent just to get caught up I have already might have help with utilities from CVOC of Jefferson county Kentucky but appointment is not until 09/19/13. I already had water turned off and sold what few things I had to get water back on. I am not a person that thinks I can live off charity. But right now I don't know what to do. I’m very desperate and with all my health issues am just out of options to go out and drum up help on my own. So if you could help us in any way it would be so appreciated. I can give all information you need to point me to some help. Thank you for your time to read this and hopefully help me find resources that can help in this very unfortunate financial situation I have fallen into.

Kentucky and need help with bills

Post by Johnston99 »

Know that Louisville, Ky. is giving out grants and loans. $5,000 in loans. People will not need to pay back the loans if they buy a home and stay in it for a decade. The city of Lousiville Kentucky has joined withh the charities such as the united way to offer this assistance.
