I was looking for emergency assistance I saw and emergency general assistance thing through the local state office it said if I qualify, they can pay some of my utilities if I’m considered an emergency case. So, I believe I am considered an emergency case because I just received a light bill for 235 dollars.
I’m going to attach the reason I am an emergency case, and I do not think anyone would disagree with me.
I am a single mom to a 7-year-old boy. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with a disease that has limited my abilities significantly.
I was working 40 hours a week prior as an office manager and compliance officer at a local grocery store. I was earning 14 dollars an hour and was able to support myself and my son. As I was working, I was enrolled in college and finished my degree in liberal arts.
I woke up one morning in excruciating pain and was not able to walk. I went to the hospital and was tested for Lyme disease. I was out of work under FMLA as I was undergoing treacherous treatment. I was unable to use my leg for the duration of the first treatment. When I wasn’t getting better, I had to repeat treatment with a stronger medication.
FMLA only protected my job of 15 years for 6 months. At the end of the 6 months, I received a letter of termination.
I called my job because I didn’t even get the option of going back to work or any warning FMLA would end. They asked if I could work. I had my doctor fill out a paper stating no. I told them I need my job and if I could temporarily step down to part time have a chair and excused absences when I’m sick or had doctor appointments. I was declined and fired.
I also paid into disability for 15 years in case something like this happened. I was only paid 4 months and declined any further payment.
I took out a bigger loan at school to be able to make ends meet and provide for my son. I also took out my 401k and used my taxes to pay my bills further in advance.
When the money ran out, I found a job, and I went against my doctors’ advice to be able to support my son. I found out I wasn’t reliable and was having a difficult time completing the job tasks effectively. I no longer work there. I found a mother job and started working. I told them minimum of my disease, and they said they would work with me. I started to get slow, sick and then my leg wouldn't work. My job found out something was not right. So, I told them more. They then changed my status to as needed and gave me a lot of restrictions and did not call or return my calls for me to work.
I now receive 378 from reach up to support my son. I received section 8. Section 8 told me because I receiver reach up; I will be required to pay 200 dollars for my rent. Not 30 percent of the reach up because it’s the rule when a person receives reach up.
I also am receiving 177 for child support.
That’s a total of 555 a month.
555-200 rent=355
355-226 car payment=129
129-110 car insurance=19
19-19gas=0
I’m not left with any for anything els3e.
I am in the process of waiting to see if I qualify for disability.
Right now, I have learned that Lyme disease has destroyed my central nervous system. And I have auto immune dominating disease.
My son had been diagnosed with E.D.S. with every joint in his body, the connective tissue is so flimsy, and he has hypotonia. He also has reactive airway disease. I just learned my son’s calf muscles are hugging his bones so incredibly tight it is turning his feet outward and causing him a lot of pain he may need surgery and 24-hour leg casting. My son sees about 8 specialists in warmouth, Albany, Dorset, and Bonington.
I also have specialists in Bonington Dartmouth and Albany.
I have hit bottom. I have no money, and I’m required to keep moving forward to help my son and me. We will never be cured but there are things we can do to help us.
My financials are as followed to give an idea of how well screwed I am... And I’m behind on all my bills.
The major bill is my car payment-226 a month I still owe roughly 4500.
Car insurance-due on the 17th of November of 110.00
Light- I owe 235.
Gas-varies on doctor appointments.
Phone-45 a month.
Internet for son’s school etc-87 due by November 11 (use YouTube for yoga exercises and stretches)
Rent-200 due on the 1st of November.
Laundry- 1.00 to wash 1.50 to dry we have about 1 to 2 loads a week.
I need car repairs.
Front brakes
Oil change
Struts
Sway bar
Alignment
And regular miniatous with spark plugs
I must buy my son pants winter boots, snow pants, basically winter clothes.
I am not worried about me with clothes. I could benefit from warm shirts and leggings (I can’t wear jeans) but he’s priority.
As you can see, I am drowning. I have no idea what I am going to do if I get denied for emergency help. I am trying so hard. And I am having a lot of trouble getting the hand up I need.

I'm Sabrina, I live in California and am a single mother of a 3 y.o. His father is in the picture and we co-parent, but doesn't help with anything financial whatsoever.
I'm looking for information on emergency low income housing, in a decent area where I live. as well as any programs that I could apply for, for wifi, food, and pretty much anything that may be able to give emergency help me and my son.
I do have a full time job, that is about a 2 hour drive from where I live currently. and just applied for a program in a MTI college. I've also had to get a newer car because mine broke down and it would cost more to fix it rather than get a new car. This has completely depleted my savings and now I don't know how I'll be able to cover my portion of rent on top of the car insurance and the new car payment and everything else that I have to do (food on the table, new clothes for a rapidly growing boy, ect.)
I know this is a lot, I just need help and honestly don't know where else to turn at this point.

I am trying to get information on who I can contact for Emergency rental assistance, emergency assistance to help pay utility bills, and emergency Christmas assistance (if available). This is emergency everything!.
A friend of mine told me that the Salvation Army sometimes gives financial help to families in need and in emergency situations. My family currently fits this exact definition. I have been very sick with a multi systemic illness since August 2021 and as a result have been out of work since February of 2022. I have not received a paycheck since this past August, as the insurance company is playing games and trying to find any possible reason to deny my disability claim.
I am going to be evicted from my home within the next week if I can't pay the past due rent I owe, my utilities are going to be shut off including my phone which is my only means of contact.
Also my car is about to be repossessed and it is my only source of transportation to and from my medical appointments. I am desperate and have nowhere else to turn for this emergency help for everything...
I have 3 children, a 16 year old son, a 14 year old daughter, and a 12 year old son. I have nothing for them for Christmas and no money to get them even 1 thing on their lists... Their father passed away last August and he was my only other source of income/support for them. They are amazing kids who have had a very tough year.
They deserve a good Christmas and it kills me that as of right now, I am unable to give them a Christmas at all...
I have always tried to instill in my children the true meaning of Christmas, that Christmas is about giving and not receiving. For the past 13 years, I have taken my children to pick a gift for a needy child in the community the same age as each of them, they would also pick 1 item from their own Christmas lists that they would like to give rather than receive. We've always left these gifts at the family’s door on Christmas Eve, wrapped and tagged "from": "The Spirit of Christmas".
We have always donated to Toys for Tots, the local church, and countless other wonderful charities. :: This year however I am unable to help any other family, as my own family is very much in need of help, and I am praying that the "Spirit of Christmas" finds its way to us... It is so very hard for me to ask for help, as I truly enjoy being "the helper”.

I'm very scared and need help ASAP.  A year ago my financial situation was so much more positive.  After years of working hard to get my credit up, and to make a decent income, everything went downhill fast when I started having one large unexpected expense after another.  Around summer time I started running into some unexpected expenses, primarily all financial from medical expenses. But then last fall I started incurring more unexpected medical expenses over a few illnesses and procedures I couldn't have predicted, and I don't know how I could have prevented.  I still haven't been able to complete all procedures, and I am behind on several bills now due to all of this.  It is hurting my credit, and I'm scared I will be homeless and without a car within 30 days.  I've been trying to find another job ASAP, and trying to find a loan, but nothing has worked out.
I truly believe if I can just get some temporary help that things will turn around.  I've paid I want to say over $10,000 in medical expenses that I haven't been able to afford.  Plus on top of that, my PTO was exhausted, so I have had a lot of lost wages to deal with on top of the unexpected expenses.
I don't know what to do anymore and I'm scared.  I need immediate help now. The owner of the business was arrested for domestic violence and was not happy with my wife and me helping his wife during this time. He made a false report to cps about us, canceled our payroll checks, sent his friend to our house with a gun, and threatened our friends. I have a bad and unique situation, I make 12 dollars an hour, yes that is above minimum wage, so worry about not meeting financial criteria. However, my bills are as follows.
200 a month for my vehicle payment.

Gas is 35 a month. Electric is past due, which has been terminated as of 7/13/2016.

Hello, we are struggling and now in an emergency situation. My husband was diagnosed with MS a couple of years ago. We have been trying to stay above water ever since.
I work full time, am a part time realtor, and he does get disability income. Still not enough. He has old car, we recently had to get me a car with the help of my mom to help make payments as I need something reliable to get to all locations. I make $13.50 hour, he gets roughly 1100, but then his insurance comes out, so really closer to $900.
House payment is covered by this at $560, and cable which he needs since he is home all day since he can’t really work. Plus car insurance, Duke, water, garbage, groceries, car payment, we are drowning. I can't get Duke paid down for anything, and can't lose power. We do not qualify for help thru our county, they say we make too much but we have nothing, I roll change all the time. We need help.
We have repairs that need done to our home that he can no longer do, we need a roof. The list goes on and on of our financial needs. Since your significant other may be getting a paycheck in two weeks, you should ask a charity for an emergency loan.Do not use a payday company (as the rates are too high) but ask a charity. Or even try a credit union. As the money can hold you over on your rent and utilities. Also try an emergency food pantry for food. Use this for more information on emergency rental assistance and other crisis services.
