Re: Georgia resources and programs for bills and other help

Post by JMartin »

I moved to Georgia to go to school. I recently received a phone call saying date my 2 kids was going into foster care. Going back and forth from Atlanta to home to get my kids out of foster care caused me to time out of school. I have recently returned to school but getting my kids situated has caused me some financial hardship. I am in need of rental assistance for this month in order to level off. With help and going back to school I would be able to pay my rent on my Georgia home and keep my kids because to school gives me housing. But I want be able to get it until next month. So I'm seeking rental assistance.

Georgia resources and programs for bills and other help

Post by Papen »

I am a single female and 6 months pregnant. I am disabled and have felony convictions. I have been without stable housing since December 2009 due to my mental health and drug addiction, which in turn let to criminal convictions. I just moved from Oklahoma to Georgia and was staying with a friend until an apartment was ready in her complex. I moved my some of my belongings in on Tuesday when I received my check and drove back here to Atlanta to get a few last things and take care of some business with the intentions of returning that evening and paying the landlord my $500 rent payment. My vehicle started overheating and wouldn't hold any coolant so I've been forced to fix it and now I do not have the money for my first months rent. I cannot continue to stay with my friend due to her cats and my allergies to them and I have nowhere else to go. I could use some guidance Please.

Sorry to hear about the husband. Is that Columbia Georgia? For food, try a pantry in the region. The person with the back surgery, why are you taking care of them if you can't feed yourself? Maybe try a caregiver for them, which Medicaid may pay for. And look into other government programs as well in Columbia, which can be found here. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... _pro3.html

Needing any type of help I can get...financially struggling...in the last 4 months my husband and I have been struggling to keep up on bills due to a brain aneurism in the family, a back surgery of a family member, whom we have been taking care of both of them, also taking on the responsibility of my husband’s 15 year old brother who is now a college student, along with our own two children. We live in Columbus, and now my husband is facing back surgery and I will soon be the only person with a job to support us all....we try to get ahead and continue to fall further and further behind....tired of struggling with paying bills and putting food on the table...please help us...god bless.

Good news is that there are many government assistance programs, charities, and non-profits to call in Fulton County Georgia. Many will require notice, and have limited funds, so being two months behind is kind of far. Anyway find the Fulton County Georgia assistance programs and places to call for help.

There are numerous programs in Greene County and Georgia that can provide help with energy bills. While getting $300 in a couple days may be tough as I think you waited too late, you need to act now. There is a Energy Crisis Program which may help with disconnections and other options that you may have.

Re: Georgia Water Bill Assistance Programs

Water bills are a little harder to get help with paying. Many cities and water companies just do not have the same number of options or assistance programs. Try this resource for info on Atlanta assistance programs, as well as Fulton County Georgia.

I had been down to the City Hall on three occasions before I finally received a bill. Now I'm faced with paying a bill that is a few dollars shy of nine hundred bucks that I, honestly, cannot afford. I'm a single- parent of four. If you can help my family with this bill, it would be a blessing. I reside in the state of Georgia. Thanks for your time and concern!

Re: State of Georgia Disabled Assistance Programs

Atlanta and Fulton County Georgia have various assistance programs, non-profits and other charities. Try the Fulton Atlanta Community Action Authority phone number 404.320.0166. Another Atlanta Georgia agency to try is the North Fulton Community Charities (770) 640-0399. Catholic Charities also has various programs, including even mortgage and utility bill programs, and their number is 770-790-3112. try one of these different contacts.

Hi,
Here are a wide variety of charities and aid organizations in Georgia. Many of these will be able to help.
For utility bills, try Operation Round Up. Many utility companies in GA offer this assistance program.

Desperately need help with rent notices & food in GA

Post by nibseysgirl »

Hello, My name is Lisa. I am a married mom of a 13 yr old type 1 diabetic. My husband and I both work (he full time over the road truck driver and me a part time server at a local Waffle House) and I am also disabled and looking to have yet another back surgery... We have been paying our rent weekly as best we can to keep up but for the last two months we have not been able to do so with all the shut off notices for our gas and electric(Needed for insulin and medication requiring refrideration and a/c) and trying to keep up with our car loan as we need to have a car as we live in a remote area of Gwinnett County and need access to hospitals for low blood sugars and emergencies with our daughter which have happend many times...We just dont have enough to go around at this time. My husband has gone from making .035 mile to .30 mile and lost of all benefits(luckily our daughter(my natural daughter from a previous marriage)is not his biological daughter so she can keep her medicaid..I lost my medicaid and now have to pay for my premiums for my medicare a and b as well as d now that I lost my medicaid ..and we lost our food stamps as well. Our income is to high for a family of three but its not enough for us to pay our minimum bills including rent(our rent is very reasonable for our area and we have compared and cant find anythign close to what we need at what our landlord allows us to pay, he really could get at least 300.00 more a month..
We have applied for many programs and you are only allowed the program one time a yr and our yr is not up(from last yr) for another 3 months...We are in dire need of some help. School is here and we have no funds to even buy our daughter the required items for school let alone a haircut and a first day outfit. We are so stressed we just need some help with getting our rent caught up...our landlord has been so kind and patient but he is starting to put pressure on us and we are fearful that we are going have to leave. We have no where to go and we are scared to death...Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated..God Bless and Thank you
