I am currently out of work and am in dire need of help with utilities, phone, food and cash assistance. My power is off and the phone. Water is next and car insurance has been cancelled. Constantly applying to jobs in Texas but no call backs yet. Can you the Salvation Army give me guidance or a few bucks?

Re: Looking for gas vouchers from TX Salvation Army

That is in the Dallas area, right? If you have an interview lined up, and it looks like has "potential" (is realistic), the Dallas Salvation Army may help with gas. As they give vouchers or pre-paid cards to get a tank in some cases - or a least some form of transportation help.

I was offered a job at Scripps Green Hospital in Texas only to have them rescind the offer due to some issues on background report. The background will be partially fixed but I learned a huge lesson.
I currently live about 1.5 hours away; my girl pumps went out in my car I purchased because I thought I had gotten my dream job. Borrowed money now have no job, no running car and no money for gasoline. The bus only runs through on Fridays. I am running out of hope so I need the Salvation Army to help. I need to pay rent etc...not sure where else to turn in Texas other than the Salvation Army. I have worked all my life and now need some help.

Hi Murray and other person
Since you seem to live in different areas of TX, use this for the Salvation Army programs in TX. Scroll down the page for local areas, and while gas vouchers are not commonly given out, some locations will offer it. Here is the info. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... ncial.html

Hello. My name is Murray. I'm an older adult (42 years old) and caregiver for my elderly mother (82 years) here in Texas. We are currently in a serious financial situation and I need gas to get to work and care for her. I'm unemployed and seeking employment. My mother is on social security, however is deeply in debt due to our crisis. We were having to pay off car loan and storage fees along with auto insurance. We are living between our car and, when able to, a night in a hotel. We have an apartment ready for us as soon as I get a job (Walmart is promising at this moment).
My question is whether there are any gas cards or voucher program from the Salvation Army that my mother and I could use too cover our crisis for the moment?
Thank you kindly,
Murray

Looking for gas vouchers from TX Salvation Army

Post by Sakura »

Hi,
I am a single mom in Dallas, TX that needs a hand up from the Salvation Army. I was hit hard from the closure of my restaurant as a restaurant employee and now I need gas to get to my new job I will be starting next week. From having nothing this year, I was recently able to secure my own place, but I need help from the expense of moving by either getting rent help or utility help. Even gas vouchers would help to get to work and stores for essentials. I already received help from the Salvation Army out Dallas this winter so they are not an option for me and I want to try the center down the road from me for the voucher. I do have 2 jobs I was able to secure recently, but waiting on paychecks is difficult. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,

We do have more than a personal cell phone number listed for the Salvation Army in El Paso Texas. In fact, there are different offices as well as branches in the county, including multiple thrift stores. See what we have listed and get emergency help from El Paso TX Salvation Army.

Dear Officers.
I got a plea for help from a Lady Citizen from El Paso, Texas. Her personal Cell Phone number  has been used to ask for assistance to Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul.
She has been receiving 5-6 call per week asking for assistance.
Of Course, this has been very annoying for her and the other major issue is that those people asking for assistance are unable to get any assistance.
I do not know how you got that phone number for the Texas Salvation Army, but it is a number that is no longer used by us.
Please be so kind to remove any reference of this number.
Thank you very much for your assistance in this matter

I am a single mother of 5 children, husband just got incarcerated. I do work fulltime. I have no family or friends here in Texas. I moved here for his legal issues but now my kids and I are stuck in a situation. I can't seem to get caught up with my rent. I am okay with the utilities. I just paid a 328 dollar light bill so that really messed me up. And I have an appointment with the Salvation Army but they called me the day before the appointment and told me that they had no more funding so that left me in a really bad situation with my landlord as well. Anything will help. Please and thank you very much. Have a great day. Also I work for Hastings in Texas until they close the doors, so I really could use the help from the Salvation Army. Please. My kids are between the ages of 11 and 9 months. Please.

Good evening,
I wanted to know if I’m emailing the correct place where I may possibly get assistance?
My family and I are currently staying at the Salvation Army in Galveston County, TX. We’ve been here for about a month at the shelter, my family and I. We finally saved enough for a $700 deposit and we are scheduled to move in Monday July 27th, 2019. The only problem is that we don’t have enough money for the electricity deposit and we’re anxiously wanting to leave the Salvation Army shelter by Monday. Can you possibly direct me to the appropriate company that may assist my needs please?
Thank you in advanced for the help you may provide my family and me.
Goodnight .

The Salvation Army paid one bill, and you are asking for more. The fact they assisted at all is incredible, and you should be so appreciative. Any dollar anyone gives anyone is awesome. Anyhow, try this for Salvation Army financial aid in Texas.

Salvation Army in Texas did not me at one time

Post by Mechanic »

Hello, I've been staying in the Salvation Army women’s and children's center since October 5, 2015. I've gained employment and through Harris county Texas rapid rehousing I just got notification that I have a place to stay by the weekend although at this time I'm unable to buy beds and furniture for this new 2 bedroom for myself and my two children. They are 15 and three years old,
I've been looking online and searching around for help for these necessities and the Salvation army where I'm staying continues to tell me they have no help or resources. I'm in big need for these items for it is the Christmas holiday and I've been doing everything possible to get on my feet and make my children's life better and us all back on track. Please contact me by email. I do not have a working phone here in Texas. Thanks in advance if able to help.
