I am embarrassed to admit at 50 I suddenly need help. I am capable and willing to work but now I need gasoline for job interviews and a new job. I was offered a job at Scripps Green Hospital in Texas only to have them rescind the offer due to some issues on background report. The background will be partially fixed but I learned a huge lesson.
I currently live about 1.5 hours away; my girl pumps went out in my car I purchased because I thought I had gotten my dream job. Borrowed money now have no job, no running car and no money for gasoline. The bus only runs through on Fridays. I am running out of hope so I need the Salvation Army to help. I need to pay rent etc...not sure where else to turn in Texas other than the Salvation Army. I have worked all my life and now need some help.

Hi Murray and other person
Since you seem to live in different areas of TX, use this for the Salvation Army programs in TX. Scroll down the page for local areas, and while gas vouchers are not commonly given out, some locations will offer it. Here is the info. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... ncial.html

Re: Looking for gas vouchers from TX Salvation Army
Hello. My name is Murray. I'm an older adult (42 years old) and caregiver for my elderly mother (82 years) here in Texas. We are currently in a serious financial situation and I need gas to get to work and care for her. I'm unemployed and seeking employment. My mother is on social security, however is deeply in debt due to our crisis. We were having to pay off car loan and storage fees along with auto insurance. We are living between our car and, when able to, a night in a hotel. We have an apartment ready for us as soon as I get a job (Walmart is promising at this moment).
My question is whether there are any gas cards or voucher program from the Salvation Army that my mother and I could use too cover our crisis for the moment?
Thank you kindly,
Murray

Looking for gas vouchers from TX Salvation Army
Hi,
I am a single mom in Dallas, TX that needs a hand up from the Salvation Army. I was hit hard from the closure of my restaurant as a restaurant employee and now I need gas to get to my new job I will be starting next week. From having nothing this year, I was recently able to secure my own place, but I need help from the expense of moving by either getting rent help or utility help. Even gas vouchers would help to get to work and stores for essentials. I already received help from the Salvation Army out Dallas this winter so they are not an option for me and I want to try the center down the road from me for the voucher. I do have 2 jobs I was able to secure recently, but waiting on paychecks is difficult. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
