Hi Frederic
Dudley NC, and the county, have limited resources, so use our main NC link to find rent assistance.
But you also mentioned hurt at work? As there are some legal things you may be able to do, with a list of NC legal aid programs on that link.
Also look here for the NC workplace rights, as they may be of interest to you as well. https://www.labor.nc.gov/workplace-rights

I door dash and some days are slow, and I am also in school. I was injured on my job in 2022, so I have had a very hard time trying to find a job that will bring in consistent income. I have been rejected by some, and it’s by the Grace of God that I am still here. I have like $128 and change, light bill, water bill are all due. I am in need of assistance.

Since you were hurt at work, did you look into Family Leave? Otherwise known as FMLA. Most employers (if not all?) need to offer it. While we are not attorneys, you can look into it for emergency help. Find details here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... leave.html

My name is Deb and I have been out of work due to a work injury that happened in November.
The company that handles our workman’s comp claims, denied my claim on February 22nd and I have been out of work without pay since then. I need emergency surgery due to the work injury and being hurt so bad.
I have surgery on my neck to treat the dislocated vertebrae that’s causing spinal cord compression, but during this process, I have no income and recovery is 2-6 months for this.
I need to know what my options are as I have never been in this type of predicament before.
I have no family or charitable groups I am affiliated with to help me pay for the emergency surgery.
I have a 15 year old son and 10 year old daughter who has opted to stay with her father and his parents because seeing me in this condition is causing her anxiety to flare up.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Am in desperate need of utility bill assistance as I was hurt at work and missed wages. My electric bill is over $600. Our household includes myself, my wife and our two small grandchildren. We have no other place to turn to with me being out of work for several months.
Any financial help for medical bills or utilities would be greatly appreciated. Lights due for cut off tomorrow thanks.

Try all of the disability programs in Connecticut. There are many of them, and they are noted here. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... nefit.html
If you were terminated for reporting a work injury, that also sounds illegal. You should look into that. There should also be pro-bono legal aid in CT for issues such as that. So between the $1000 SSD you get, and what your employer may pay you, those two should really help.

I was hurt at work and while off I was laid off. They refused to keep paying for cost associated so I was left with no choice but to hire a lawyer. I have filed for unemployment once I was able to work but I am still waiting to hear their decision. Since I was hurt, I will be paid some settlement once they go to court but have no idea when. So I am left with a mortgage past due and an emergency car payment past due and I am supporting myself and a 15 month child.

Hurt a work and need emergency attention

Post by Felise Navadad »

We are a family of eight, including a son with special needs. About 1 week ago, my husband injured his knee on the job and was denied workman compensation, and currently not working due to his injury. I have to seek emergency medical attention, due to abscessed teeth, and needs to be seen by an oral specialists. We have not enough money to pay for rent, must less take care of our health. Please if there is any helpful information, please contact me. I live in Ridgeville South Carolina. Thanks so much!

Hello
My disability benefits has ended and I was denied for unemployment based on my last 18 months have been on disability. I was terminated 3 years ago after reporting a work injury. My termination was then unexpectedly and I was eligible for unemployment then was put on disability instead.
I maxed out my 2 years of workers compensation and 1 year SSDI and now I only received 1000 dollars a month for workers compensation permanent disability advances. I am still being treated for my injuries and have been rested 74 percent disabled by worker comp state rater.
Due to financial need my doctor is given me the okay to try part-time work if my restrictions can be accommodated.
I have qualified for food stamps which as been a blessing.
Any information or references for cash /rent aid or other expenses will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

I am 1 credit shy of graduating from U of A but unable to pay any part of my student loans. Have not been able to find a job since May although I have been looking diligently every day, and now to make matters worse I am hurt from an injury at home. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder 18 years ago and have done my best to pay 385.00 a month for my prescriptions.
Eight years ago I was also diagnosed with MS. I am behind in all my bills gas, rent, electric. I have gone on average without food typically 5 days at a time every week. I need help and I’m at a loss as to where to start. Thank you for your time in reading this.

Try calling the Jefferson County Alabama organizations, non-profits, and community action agencies for help. An extensive listing is on the link below. Find examples like Jefferson County Committee for Economic Opportunity 205-327-7500. They offer weatherization, free food, grants for paying energy bills, and other financial aid.

Are you in the Contra Costa County part of Richmond California? As I may be wrong, but I think the town crosses over other counties. If you are, get Richmond Contra Costa assistance programs and places to call for help to avoid that eviction. While they may need more time for your June rent, the agencies may be able to start the process. Places like Pacific Community Services which can be reached at 925-439-1056 provide housing services, like rent help, housing counseling, mortgage programs. SHELTER, Inc. in the Contra Costa are is another great place to call. Phone (925) 335-0698.

I was working graveyard shift in Laundry in Pleasant Hill, but I fell and was injured, and sent to their doctor and started a Workmans Compensation Claim. I was off work for 3 weeks, and was to be placed on "light duty." There was no light duty available, but I returned to work in Richmond where they transferred me to housekeeping services. I gave my area supervisor a claim to send in so I could receive payment for missed work, but he didn't turn it in and I called the Insurance agent directly and was told he didn't reply to email and the file would be assigned to another claim agent. I was told I would hear from someone the following day but still have not heard anything, meantime my June rent is past due, and I've called other agencies listed online and was told I dont qualify because I'm not disabled, dont have kids and I'm not 60 years old. I need immediate emergency assistance and don't know where to get help. Please, I'm desperate, can you help me? Please contact me ASAP. I would appreciate it very much. Thank you
