Re: short term disability

Post by Admin - Jon McNamara »

The disability payments you may receive will not help with existing medical bills. But Wisconsin will include future medical care as part of the aid offered. Much of it is run by the state's resource center, and staff from the location can process applications and offer information on other resources for the disabled. Or ask them about programs for your child. Read more on their services here. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... fit_p.html

There are different agencies in Colorado that help the disabled. If you have several needs, you may want to reach out to them for advice. Maybe there are other financial aid programs you can apply to, in addition to SSDI. So call around, and in the meantime, read more disability assistance in Colorado.

Hello,
Thank you for responding so quickly. As I just spoke with my mother. Here are the main concerns since her SSI disability stopped.
1.) She is behind on her KUB bill in the amount of $300.00. Her normal charges are around $280.00/month. She just paid $100.00 towards over standing
2.) She has an Equity Loan the payments are $249.00/month. She is behind 2 months so the owed amount is $500.00.
3.) Her heating and air conditioner is broken and she is trying to make due without heat. If possible could someone check her system to see if it can be repaired.
4.) In November she was involved in a car accident in which they totaled her car. The money she was given to replace it was stolen from her and she has no means to purchase another car without that money. It would be wonderful if she could obtain a car to get her to church, work and home. She said she can make small payments if someone would be willing to help her with this.
If you need her information please let me know and I will provide that to you. Thank you very much for your help with this.

Many home repairs for my disability

Post by Tessez »

I need a new hot water and maybe some floor repairs. I have been asking and applying everywhere. I am disabled and need a new water heater. The one I have is sitting in about 2 inches of rusty water. The bottom of the tank is also rusty about 2 inches on the bottom. There is a puddle under my house, which means there is an issue with the floor also.
My PGE bill is running from $200.00 to $300.00 a month, which I'm sure is a direct result of leaking hot water. I have found out that Low's carries one for $238.00. :he volunteers at LOVE INC will install it for free. I can't afford it, that's about all I have to live on each month. Add the expense of leaking hot water 24/7 is way beyond my means.
I'm pretty much locked in my house, there is no $ for gas, only basics for groceries once a week. I have been asking every organization I could find for help, but to no avail.
I have been sent to one place then another. Which in turns sends me to another group that might be able to help. It's really hard to beg for help, and hurts when I get transferred around. I don't know what to do. My disability is with comprehending, and other stuff like speaking or finding words. And some of these forms ( if I get that far) get really complicated. Even when I can find a sight, I can't find the application form. Just more information about there mission. This months electrical bill is $177.00 plus the $300.00 that’s due. I have cut every penny I could so I don't have a high bill, to the point of using battery operated sensor lights in place of night lights. I shut off the water faucet that leads into the tank. I can't find the plug in so I didn't unplug it.

Try public aid in Philadelphia, as they offer solutions for the disabled and those with no income. Did they offer you any other benefits besides food stamps? As there are many other programs in the Philadelphia region from social services, so call them and ask. The information on aid is on the main site. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... adelp.html

There are lawyers that help with disability payments and benefits. They can work on your behalf to get the payments restarted, and work on a contingency basis. So this means you do not need to pay them unless they are successful. if the lawyer can free up that money, then you can pay your mortgage or other bills. Get more details on the disability appeal and legal process.

Hi, I am not sure where to turn or even start. My family has been struggling for years because of loss of income. But this past year both my and my husbands health have gotten worse, we have both applied to Social Security and we do get food stamps, but we have zero income and live with his grandmother and out 2 children.

I have several conditions such as CRPS, type 1 diabetes, neuropathy and a blood disorder that have caused me to spend most of this past year in the hospital, and my husband has liver issues and other health problems. I have no idea how to even get my children a coat let alone Christmas gifts this year. My daughter is 6 and my son is 3. Is there a way to ask you for help or do you have any ideas on where to turn? We live in Philadelphia . My children’s school pays for our internet since we do online schools, both children are also in special ed classes and speech and OCC therapies.

My disability was stopped by the government

I lost a $1,000.00 monthly disability payment which paid my mortgage. Now I don't know how to pay my mortgage and utility bills on my salary. I don't bring in enough money. I need help and keep being told I make to much, but I don't if you compare my bills to salary. I was not expecting this to happen. I was always the one helping others and now I need help and can't find it. I am $500. behind on phone and have no money for my April mortgage. Afraid to turn the heat on. My mortgage is $964 month and my income I bring home is $1158.

Try some of the organizations in El PAso and Texas that focus on helping the disabled. There are really a number of places you can turn to for advice. While financial aid is limited (especially for water bills) for families with disabled children, especially two of them, you may be more likely to qualify. Also, if you were making timely payments, that is another positive for you. Anyway, read more on Texas disability programs.

That is an extensive number of needs, and disability payments from SSDI will not nearly cover them. However we do have extensive information on a wide range of financial aid for the disabled, including utility disconnection prevention, how advocates can help, medical care, and more. Most of these are government programs, but there are also some non-profits mixed in. It is worth a shot anyway to try to get some additional assistance. There details are here. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... stanc.html

Household with disabled kids losing water service

Post by Romnee »

Hello,
I am facing water disconnection today, suddenly, from FGUA here in Pasco county.
I am a single mother of four, two of my four have severe disabilities. I have been working with my water company to pay the excess money that accumulated when they said they were only sending me estimated bills and not full usage...for six months. I am struggling to catch up, but they said they will not allow any more time, even though I have been sending timely payments each month.

I reside in Jemison Alabama out of Chilton County. I am in need of help before my children and I are homeless. I am currently waiting on Social Security / SSI and currently receive AFDC and food stamps and tried to going the jobs program but they said they didn't believe I could work and would try to help get a jump on the SSI. They have instructed me to pay 1303.00 to make my rent current by the 5th if not have to move by the 8th!! I do have 245.00 coming in on the 5th from AFDC which is how I have been paying my rent a little at a time!!

To Whom This May Concern;
My family and I are making an appeal to anyone or organization that maybe able to help us in our time of need. I am a single mother of 2 with 1 grandchild and another on the way. We all live together in my home with my mom trying to make it in this trying economy. We live in Mississippi. I have been diagnosed with cardiac issues, with a IVC Filter embedded in the big vein in my heart in which my doctor has taken me out of school and rendered me unable to work. My Aunt has just been diagnosed with Mental Illness and a Brain Tumor and is unable to work as well and my daughter is also unable to work due to complications with her pregnancy.
As if that was not enough my twin boys and I all suffer from Asthma and have been going through complication with their Asthma. All of my bills are currently one or more months behind and we are in desperate need of some kind of financial assistance. We have done all we can to maintain however; taking from Peter to Pay Paul has taken its toll and there is no money to pay any of the bills. We are always paying the last months bills while waiting on disability and cannot catch up so we can get back on track again.
If there is any organization, agency, or person that has read my story that can help me and. my family please contact me by e-mail so we can make some arrangements to get these bills paid.
Sincerely;

You are correct in that Alabama doesn't have as many resources or assistance programs. Mostly it has to do with it being a smaller, less affluent state, so donations and funding just isn't there to fund many charities and non-profits. But there are some options and churches to call upon. Just keep trying. We have numerous resources listed for emergency help. So explore the programs in your town or county. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... grams.html

I have pregnant and the field I work in isn't safe for my child while pregnant so I had to put my 2 weeks in and I am afraid that there going to take all my partners money we have rent etc. to pay for. I am now filing for disability too. I also am now receiving Wisconsin badger care. Any thing will help! You can email me back. Thank you.

I live in Branson, MO I am 45 years old and 100% disabled with 6 different health issues. I draw my late husbands social security check each month, of which is $931 a month. I only have like 8 bills a month I pay. What hurts is I pay $37 a month my co=pay for all my medications monthly after Humana (my insurance pays rest) Medicaid says I don't qualify and if want on Medicaid so they pay the co-pays , then I have to pay them $175 each month spend down, so can't do that. I am paying a credit bureau (on various hospital bills I have after Insurance paid their part) they get $25 a month. My monthly rent is $598 a month - includes all utilities except Electric and my electric costs me $164 a month. Rent & lights comes to $762 monthly. If you take that out of my $931 I get in social security on 3rd each month. It leaves me $169 a month to live on. I tried getting food stamps they gave me $37.00 a month to try to live on. I pay $15 co-pay every time I see my family doctor, which adds up with my visits. I already been at doctors 4 or 5 times this month. I can't move as no way to move my furniture and I am not allowed to lift over 15 lbs per family doctor. Plus most places don't pay all utilities except lights, that’s why I moved here. When I used to apply for apartments based on ones income, I was told I am UNDER QUALIFIED. While my rent would be lower, I still wouldn't have enough left over after rent to pay all my utilities as no utilities included. So I can't even get in place based on income. I have almost had my lights shut off. My doctor and I learned even you Io have a oxygen machine I have to use at night, that doesn't keep my lights on. I have nobody but me and every month worry I will have no electric. There has to be some place people can go and get help monthly paying their light bill, or rent or something? Don't say CAM, or Salvation Army, or local Churches or any of the assistance programs in Branson. I have been to them before and always told get money first of year and gone quickly. I am searching Internet and seen a program called LIHEAP and going out call them Monday. Problem, is I need help every month. I can almost pay all my bills, minus leaves not much for food. I could make it on my own, if I didn't have a electric bill each month with Empire electric. I doubt if you can help, but I am grasping at straws.

I did not receive my SSI check and I depend on this. Someone called Social Security and changed my account and profile info. My mortgage is due, my lights, my water are unpaid and I have never been late before. I am past due and late charges are incurring in addition. I need social security to be honest. I need help ASAP.
