Re: Need heating oil

Post by Thomas »

oil company wants us to pay 900.00 hundred dollars all at once we can;t, I'm disabled and I'm bed bound for several month now and been under doctors care, and needing more extended medical care, and that means more medical bills coming in, and there is know way we can afford to pay all this money at one time, my husband and I our at the level where we can't get help with these bills and debts, and we could of years ago and didn't know it, so we did with out before, and now when we finally found out about some programs we can't get them,
so were left out again, its not fair, I have been disabled for a while and never used any of the programs and now I need the help for some heating bills or we can't get no more oil,

but I do want to change to another oil company after this, because they have been ripping off alot of people, and they were on TV allot of times for different things about over charging, but what can I do, But pay the bill and get a better oil company,

but I need to find one so we don't run out of oil.
and I own a hospital bill and its over a 1200.00 dollars and one for over 200.00 hundred dollars and its hard these days, but were doing what we can. I can't work but I'm trying to do what I can. what are we to do these days, I have know one to talk to, where do I go . lord knows when your trying to pay your bills and are confine to at =
home and no one comes to see you and you even ask the church, and they don't care enough to come then there is something wrong with the matter of church people today isn't it don't you think.

I have been threw hard times but not like this, this is the worse that I ever been threw and things area getting any better these days, please let me know if you can help.

Did you look into the federal government funded Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Program? It can help former military members, and is in partnership with the HUD’s Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8). So it is for low income, can provide emergency rental assistance and other housing aid to the low income, needy, and former veterans. Good news to know you have interviews upcoming. Good luck with those.
You will want to call your local section 8 housing program in your town and ask about the veteran program.

Have you heard about the Citgo free heating oil program? People may qualify for some heating oil. It is run by Citgo and Citizens Energy. Of course the oil is not unlimited, but people can qualify for a little help. More information on the program can be found here, as well as phone numbers to call.
http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/fre ... _fuel.html
The phone number is basically (1-877-563-4645). Call and apply.

I never received the other emails. Sorry. Where did you send them too? Regardless if you are out of oil and need help with heating expenses, try these options. Looks like you have registered from New Jersey area, and Newark. So try these places. The main non-profit and community action agency in your area is United Community Corporation (UCC). (973) 642-0181. They may have emergency heating aid, and possibly oil, or let you know where to go to for it.
Another place to call for help is Salvation Army of Essex County, and their phone number is 908-851-9300. You need to get calling, as some places are not taking new people, but need to be persistent.

Here are programs for the Fitchburg MA and Worcester County MA area. Some may have some heating bill aid and fuel oil. Try places like the Catholic Charities at 508-798-0191. Always try the Citgo Oil Heat program. Another non-profit to try is the Worcester Community Action Council, Inc. (phone (508) 754-1176), which works with energy bills and utility companies too, and may offer LIHEAP.

Re: Home heating fuel

Post by Admin - Jon McNamara »

The winter has been brutal in Pennsylvania, and many need free fuel or heating bill help. A listing of programs and non-profit agencies to try to call for help include the following. Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc. (CAADC). Phone (610-891-5101) They may be the number one place to call. They offer LIHEAP, free fuel, heating oil, and much more to low income, unemployed, and others.
Another place to try may be The Salvation Army of Chester, and that phone number is (610) 874-0423.
They can usually provide a little short term help for people to get on their feet.

I am sorry to hear that about your grandparents and family. Sounds like you need much assistance, and being 18 there is help out there for you. A couple options include heating oil buying networks. Also, you should talk to an attorney about your family taking that loan out on the house. May be illegal. Many attorneys offer free legal aid to people in situations like yours. The heating oil network info is here.

Look for legal / pro-bono advice by navigating to the left margin on the site and selecting find free legal aid / advice.

Can't afford to buy heating oil

Post by gerry.heffer »

I live in Naugatuck, Ct. I am currently without any heat since I need oil to heat my apt and at this moment I cannot afford to buy any. I do not qualify for any state assistance because thru their guidelines I am over income, yet I cannot buy food or heat my apt. I live with my 15 year old son. I work full time but it has been extremely difficult this year to keep up with bills and daily expenses. I know that there must be others that may have it more difficult than me but I truly cannot purchase any oil at this moment. Can you please consider my request or guide me in the right direction? Thank you in advance.

Try some of the heating oil buying networks. While some may require an auto refill program or commitment for your heating oil tank, some may not. Regardless, at the end of the day, their prices are much cheaper than most dealers and you can save a significant amount of money on heating bills. Try this resource.

There are programs, such as CItgo, that provide free home heating fuel and oil. One option is the Oil Heat program. Qualified individuals can get up to 100 gallons of fuel oil per year, and it does cover Michigan as well. The contact information and phone numbers are on the link below.

One of the options you may want to try is a home heating buying network. So even though she is only receiving $1100 per month, the way these networks work is you pay a nominal fee to sign up, and you get heating and fuel oil at a big discount. People save hundreds of dollars per year on heating oil. Here is more info.
