Re: Need heating oil
We are not sure where that Valley office is. Is it in the northeaster part of the country. If so, then try the Citgo heating oil program. It is called Oil Heat, and can provide free heating oil to the needy and low income to help them make it through the cold winter or difficult period in their lives. The oil is completely free for qualified individuals.

Re: Owe money on heating bills
Are you talking about Berkshire in Massachusetts? If so, here are all of the Massachusetts agencies by county. http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/mas ... progr.html
Mass does have many heating and fuel oil programs. What did Citizens tell you? What did community action agency say? Did they give any tips or suggestions at least, even if they had no financial aid?

Can't afford heating oil
I am looking for help getting oil. I have two daughters, aged 9 & 4. We recently moved to New Haven Ct. I have applied through tvcca but my appointment isn't until December 1st.I am currently unemployed. I only get a little money each month from the state. My oil tank is completely dry meaning no heat or hot water. I have to take my kids to my moms which is about a half hour away just to give them a bath. I would appreciate any help I can get with this matter. I have tried numerous places with no luck. I am starting to get a little desperate as it's getting colder at night. Thank you so much for your time.

Re: Heating oil
One of the popular options these days are heating oil buying networks. Basically many people pool their resources and buying power together to get reduced rates on heating oil. Individuals save dozens of dollars per year in aggregate using a buying network. Some of the leading ones are referenced here.

I am contacting you in regards to options for oil heat assistance. I have been unemployed since February and have gone through all of my savings, I was going to get oil for my tank last week but unfortunately an issue came up with unemployment and I only received $62.00 after taxes when I usually receive $482.00 after taxes. Because of this I am now going to fall behind and it is going to be a struggle to recoup. I am currently right under 1/8 full in my oil tank, I am getting nervous with winter right around the corner and not being able to heat my home.
Thank you for your time and assistance,

Re: Heating oil
Maybe try weatherization. He is not using the gas stove to heat his home, is he? Never do that if so. Instead look into other emergency financial assistance in Ohio for gas and energy bills. Find Ohio heating programs here. Heatshare is a main one offered by many utility providers across Ohio. Call your energy company and ask about it. Columbia Gas can be reached at 1-800-344-4077, but all the phone numbers we have listed.

The warranty ran out and he cannot afford to have a repair person fix it. He also need oil for the heating season. I need to know if there are any organizations that would repair his oven for him at no cost. He lives in Cleveland in the 44109 area. Please feel free to call me.
Thank you for your help.

Re: Heating oil tank is empty
That is great that found a new job and also in school. That is the best way to get ahead long term, even though I am sure it is hard work and on time. Try calling some of our Newark New Jersey assistance programs, as they may be able to guide you to how to get heating oil or general help with paying utility bills and such. An effective agency to call is Essex County Division of Community Action, and there number is (973) 395 - 8350. They administer a number of support and low income programs.

I was shut off today after paying $500 in late July 2011 and getting assistance in June 2011 for $450. Also I receive LIHEAP which pays about $100 a month. I cant seem to catch up. I just started a new job days ago after searching for over a year and I'm in school full time. Also I am a single mom with a few children too. Please help. Thank You

Re: Owe money on heating bills
One of the places people are starting to llok for discounted oil is a buying network. Many consumers band together to negotiate lower prices in a heating oil buying network. It is in effect bulk buying, like what Costco and WalMart due with vendors. But homeowners directly benefit. More on heating oil buying networks and how you can save money from them.

Re: Heating oil
Try calling any of these following places in the Wilkes-Barre Luzerne Pennsylvania area. There are numerous Luzerne County assistance programs and resources for heating oil and energy bill help. The Luzerne Salvation Army Salvation Army is one of the leading non-profits to call for help. (570) 824-8741 While they focus on a food pantry, other limited financial assistance may be available. Maybe the best place to call is Commission on Economic Opportunity of Luzerne County, which is the community action agency which offers information, support, data on grant and heating oil programs, and more. Phone number (570) 829-1665.

The only place they can apply for help is LIHEAP - and they may not be eligible for that. My parents are on a fixed low income (under $22,000.00). They have a lot of pharmacy bills (co-pays for medications) and these add up to almost $200.00 a month. Is there any other option for them that you may know of for them
to seek assistance? I would really appreciate any and all assistance you can offer. Right now I am at the end of my rope, and I don't know what else to do. I wish I was
rich and that I could pay their bills. I maintain my own apartment, and that is difficult enough.
Thank you for your assistance.

Re: Heating oil tank is empty
So Cal Gas offers grants and financial assistance programs for energy bills. Many are also for senior citizens as well, which sounds like should cover your mom and her age group. Find a listing of California and So Cal Gas assistance. For example there is the CARE program, they provide free weatherization to elders, and there is always the California Low-Income Energy Efficiency (LIEE) Program, which is another energy conservation programs for qualified people.

Re: Need heating oil
You sound like you are a perfect candidate to look into a heating oil buying network. They are basically like buying clubs (think Costco or Sams) in which hundreds or thousands of people pool their buying power in order to buy oil and fuel, and many of the companies may be non-profits as well. The total amount of savings can be substantial, and can amount to dozens of dollars per year, or more with the high price of oil. Most clubs charge a minimal fee to join, but even after paying that people save tons of money. Read more on heating oil buying clubs and networks.
