Hi,
We are not a church, but we have a list of how you can try there in Sacramento. Generally food is more widely offered but money for rent not as common, but you can try this for help from a Sacramento church.

Hi,
We are not a church so we don't do this. We provide info on car repair programs, including churches that may help you fix it. Find more information here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... from_.html

In addition to that, if you have a UMC church in your area, some (many?) of those partner with mechanics and garages to fix a car. Try this for a United Methodist Church car program. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... metho.html

What churches help with car repairs?

Post by DaisyBunny »

I really am praying for help to pay to fix my car. I have been here for 3 years and after the first year's lease I have been month to month as housing is costly. I am late paying it to a major car repair that I am praying will get fixed by your church.
I am a 66 y/o disabled widow and have tried every source I can think of for assistance. My landlord is unrelenting and demanding payment along with late fees which I can’t work until the car is fixed. I have nowhere else to turn and am really not up to or can afford to get evicted and have to find a new place. I can manage my bills once I get caught up and my car is fixed by your church, this stress is just too much. Thank you for reading my story and bless you. I do pray every day but, nothing is happening and I am panicking.

Thank you for the information on the site. I have already went to all the listed churches for help and more. No one helps pay for rent. I do know that if Community Careers Partners would have been the only other resource that I know would have helped and I don't have to be in the same county as their services. I have called 20 churches and only one responded. They responded just to give me the information I already know. I tried going through that is why I turned to the churches but no one is willing to help.

Hi,
Yes, there is no way a local church will pay bills worth $624. They have very little funding (if any) and only for people in the parish. But look here for churches near you that help the low-income.

We have information on all counties and locations in OK, including for housing needs. It also covers OKC as well as Tulsa. Look here for help in Oklahoma.

I'm looking for more assistance in Oklahoma to get my away from depending on a church I live in rural Oklahoma, Latimer County, so many programs or churches/charities I've researched don't provide assistance outside of Tulsa/OKC area.
I'm a single mother, and due to my child support hearing getting postponed multiple times, (since May - current hearing date is Nov. 30th), I've depleted all savings and resources I have and I'm behind on everything!
Any assistance to help me live independently, and get out of programs from churches, the help would be greatly appreciated!! If you need any other details or information, please let me know. Thank you in advance.

Hello. My name is Amanda. I am contacting you today because my family and I are in serious need of help, and we don’t know what to do or where to turn to and have had no luck from churches. One of the churches we go to had mentioned your company and told us to contact you. My Fiancé, son and I will be homeless in 4 days with no one where to go. We moved back here from New York a few months ago and into a place with roommates. The owner of the house came by 6 days ago and gave us all 10 days to move out because the other roommates never told the landlord we were living there. (Even though we signed a least. Which turns out was actually fake).
I am now extremely worried and not sure what to do as a mother and provider with nowhere to go. My Fiancé and I have been looking for 6 days and can’t seem to find anything quick enough or in our price range and now we only have 4 days left. We are hardworking people.
We go to church. (St. Mary's Episcopal in Stuart).
We always help everyone in need and always lend a hand when needed. We volunteer at red cross and help our community. We are responsible and trustworthy. We have children and 1 small very friendly 5lb dog. I'm so sorry for reaching out. I feel ashamed to even ask. I never ask for help. I always try to figure it out on my own and to help others. I'm not sure where to turn to or what to do since we have no luck from churches. If you could possibly somehow help us in any way possible, it would be so greatly appreciated. If you can’t, thank you for even reading this and listening. Please get back to me whenever you can. Thank you so much. I'm so sorry to ask. I just don’t know what to do or where to go. I'm so lost. Thanks again.

I contacted my local agencies and churches for help . But no one really could help with my large bill of $624 and  I was told that LIHEAP program would only pay bills that were not a crisis situation. They got my information, but I was told it wouldn't post until 30 to 35 days.
I was only able to get $53 from family towards a $624 bill, but it was not enough to keep my lights on. I was disconnected today, and I have a husband who is filling for disability and 3 children in household. Ages 3, 8, and 14. I need immediately a list of churches that help. Can some please assist me? Thank you for your time.

Since you are in San Diego, try Catholic Charities there. Maybe they can give you financial help for your bills. Or some free stuff, like food. Or maybe just advice and referrals. Either way they may be an option. Find details here at Catholic Charities assistance programs in San Diego.

My name is Jennifer and I am reaching out to you to see if your church could help me. As so far I have not been having luck, and I was told by 211 that neighborhood churches could help me. The reason I am reaching out is because I need help paying my October 2020 rent. I've been married 2 years and I've had a lot of relationship problems with my husband which we've always worked out. This past Sunday my husband decided that he will be moving out of our apartment by the 29th and he will not be paying the rent before he leaves so I am out of luck.
Based on the fact that I just got a temp assignment on the 10th and half of my check goes to daycare I have no way of paying October's rent. If you could help or lead me to someone who could I really would appreciate it. I do not want to be homeless with my children. Thank you for your time.

Hi, I was looking for help with my light bill. I received a bill for $556 and made a payment for $140 but the church I’m working told me I had to pay an additional $200 in order to be helped and they said they would help with the last $200. CPS energy wants the full payment. It was due December 19, 2018 but I don't have any funds to make any more of a payment. I have 3 children from the ages 6, 4, 2 and wouldn't want my children to be without electricity.

We do have information on shelters in Denver. They can get you out of your van. Try the Inner city Parish. It can be found here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... progr.html

I am without money and gas. I'm a Pennsylvania native and have been stuck in Denver now for 2 weeks sleeping in my van in the cold as the church shelter just closed.

I came to Denver under the pretext that I would have housing provided, and a job lined up. After 3 weeks my job fell apart and the folks I was staying with told me, due to the circumstance; that I can no longer stay.
I am without money and gas. I'm a Pennsylvania native and have been stuck in Denver now for 2 weeks sleeping in my van in the cold as the church shelter just closed. I am desperately trying to get back to PA, at this point; where I have family and trusted friends that can help me hit the ground running. Having a warm and comfortable place for me and my girlfriend to stay back home, is a guarantee.
I've still been seeking part-time employment in Denver, but without a house or access to a shower, electricity, bed, etc. it is very difficult to maintain. I found this website searching online for gasoline vouchers through churches, Salvation Army and other non-profit organizations. I haven't had to ask for help like this before, and it is not easy.
If there's any help that your organization or another could provide for me and my girlfriend, we would be greatly appreciative. We are also both absolutely willing to do some volunteer work with any organization in exchange for meals or hotel or gas vouchers. Neither of us are shy of hard work and at this point I don't know what else to do. :Thank you ahead of time for your consideration, time and patience. :We will look forward to hearing from you.

Re: The church limits how many people that help weekly

Post by Admin - Jon McNamara »

Churches have very limited resources. These are not dedicated social service agencies, but rather may give members of their parish (or how live in the region) a little food. Or maybe a few dollars to pay some critical bills. But they, like any agency, should never be relied on. Here are more details, and find help from a church.

I am a US Citizen residing in Flushing, New York 11367. My husband and I are living with my son.
Right now we are in need of paying our bills, rent, food and assistance to pay our rent. We are low income family, our salary was cut off.
My husband is a diabetic, has a pacemaker and in need of medical assistance.
We have been helping in the church weekly and church community for more than 20 years now, but right now we are really in need of help.
Both me and my son are looking for a job but still waiting.
I ask for assistance in your good church office and I ask that you will reply soon.
It seems we keep hitting limits with these places. But we volunteered at the church
and now we need help.

The church limits how many people that help weekly

Post by Oxford12 »

Mother recovering from stroke, lives with me now. I no longer work in order to care for her right now. Rent is due today, will not have near enough left to pay on utilities.
I have to buy necessary items such as wipes, laundry soaps, toiletries, items not covered by DHS or the church. I have gotten food stamps, which helps on food, but only income is my mother's SSI right now. I went to Neighbor to Neighbor and they were supposed to pay $50 on the electric bill and to date that has not been applied.
I can only receive help from them once a year, the heating & cooling program through DHS is out of funds, and I have an application in with Catholic Charities but have heard nothing yet. I have been to Helping Hands Ministry only to wait then funds have been depleted, have tried First Baptist Church of Tulsa but they require appointment and only help 20 per week.
I am not always able to find someone to come sit with my mother while I try to get help. I am starting to panic a little as I cannot seem to get any help & utilities are coming due, a few I have made payment arrangements with but if I break these, bill must be paid in full. Please, I am in dire need of some assistance from a church or charty. Thank you so much.

That is a lot to ask from a church, but maybe they can assist. If you have been homeless for 2 years then you will probably need much more than a church (or a charity for that matter) can ever offer. Sounds like you have very substantial issues. But at least you have a job, which is a good start. As far as help, try this for information on services. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... ance_.html

My family and I have been homeless going on 2 years, we have truly struggled and really do not know where to turn at this point. We have received help from family, friends and church, and for a short time the state, but we really have nowhere to turn at this point.
If you could please reach out to us, at this time we are in immediate need of food, gas, and assistance with paying for the hotel we are currently staying in. I do work, and my wife is actively seeking a job but nothing has happened yet. We truly are trying to get out of this hole ourselves but we just need some help from one or more churches on getting started again. Please reach out to me as soon as you can. It is my wife and we have 3 kids (17, 13, and 8). Thank you for your time.
