Hello, this is Stephanie Davis. I am currently struggling to make my house payment and pay for food. Due to a financial hardship hat was out of my control, I am 2 months behind on my house payment in the amount of $1569 and have no money for other bills. I am on disability, and have been for several years. I have been married for the last 3 years and he was my caretaker and he took care of all the breakdowns, repairs. He also was the majority financial support and now I am facing hardships in my life. We are now getting divorced, it will be finalized April 5. He no longer lives with me. He left the home January 10th and I have been on my own since.
I am on SNAP, medical spend down, and my Medicare premium is now paid for me. I do not qualify for cash assistance even though I am in a financial hardship. My social security check is $1326 per month. I own a mobile home but pay lot rent of $561 plus water. I have applied for NED through Housing Authority to help with the lot rent. A church helped me for January and partial February. I have also applied for Lleap program. I have around $2000 in medical bills. My monthly bills include 2 credit cards, total approximately $1339.. give or take depending on electric and water. As you can see I am in financial hardship.
I also need a new roof, my car needs new head gaskets, my carport is falling down, I need my yard fenced in, I was left with the 2 dogs and somedays I can't bend over to put their leashes on. I am in need of a ramp before my next surgeries, and a lift chair.
I am so overwhelmed with my finances that I don't even know where to begin. So any help you can offer or suggest would be very appreciated, I don't know where to start.

Hello, We have been having problems for a with rent. About 3 months ago my father left me and my 2 other brothers and my older brother cannot work because he has a scoliosis and is unable to work, and my younger brother work because he has school so I’m currently the only one working. My current week check is only $300, which is creating this financial hardship. My rent is $1,500 alone all other utilities such as (electricity, water and gas) have been cut off for a week now and we are very close to being evicted. That is some list, but yes, they do have a very low income. Since they are older, they may get priority from some agencies. But why does not your father work? Anyway, here are some suggestions for your parents. We have many programs for low income families listed.

Can I get an application. It is for my parents. Mom 59 and father 60s. Mother is only worker making on $10 something. Father doesn’t work. My mother has diabetes 2 and high cholesterol. She is struggling with bill, car, gas, utilities, food and insurance (car and health). She makes a net income of $100 approximately a week.
I want to help her. She applied for food stamps but they said she made too much in gross income because she has to work overtime to cover some bills but still cant fully cover it. What can I do to help my parents. There has to be something. Please can you help me help them.

Hi! My dad just recently diagnose with cancer and had his first treatment of chemo yesterday. I wonder if you could help us out like helping with rent, water bills and maybe help fix our ride because last night when we were on our way back our steering wheel belt broke and radiator hose busted. I'm currently going through a divorce. I don't have a job right now. Been a stay at home mom. I have three kids. I have to stay in the house we live in until lease is up in June. Rent is 895 month. Utilities run around 300. My oldest son gets SSI which is 809 month. I will start getting SSI for my youngest son in December. I'm not one to ask people for help. I have health problems and am under so much stress right now. I don't even have money to get my kids Christmas presents! Could you please see what you can do for me and my family. Hello, this is my very first time doing this, and I am greatly embarrassed. I was very depressed and wanted to hide.
I had a great job, and always tried to help others. Well, now the show is on my foot, and I don’t know what to do or where to go.
I have 2 kids, no job, and it breaks my heart that my kids have to go thru this. I need a job, so I can pay my bills, gas and food. We have not had a vacation of any kind for 3 years. Nor have we bought any new clothes, etc, meaning that we are not using our money carelessly.
Most of my family have gone to be home with the Lord. Its sad that my kids have been to more funerals than Birthday Parties.
We have a 1987 Isuzu Rodeo, that needs work.
I have gone hungry so my kids could eat. I needed to lose weight anyway.
I thought I had a job, but ended up getting my identity stolen. I am so scared, and I shouldn't be if God is in control.
My house is a mess because I started hoarding, but that was because of all the houses I had to clean out from all the deaths in
the family. I need help with that too. If I can get help with that, I can maybe donate some clothes and stuff for others. Some clothes are new or worn once.

I am a PA resident residing in the Montgomery County area right outside of Philadelphia, where my husband and I are currently out of work. My husband had a medical condition in June and he is really sick. However, he is finally starting to feel better. My reason for this letter is that I've been laid off since March 2012 due to outsourcing and he's out due to multiple medical issues (diabetes, heart problems, dialysis, hypertension, stroke) that has caused a great financial hardship for the both of us. I am living in an apartment and our heat has been turned off. We have a kerosene heater in one room, due to the size & amount of heat per square feet that I can't afford. He will have to utilize the first floor of our apartment due to he can't make it up the stairs, which will cause me to get the first floor remodified for handicap use. The saddest part of this story is that he is only 55 years of age and I am only 49. Currently, I am living on an unemployment check that is running out quickly, as well as my 401k. My top priority for my bills is my mortgage, heating and insurance. I eat the food that's stocked in my freezer with no intentions of buying until I run out of essentials. I am in dire need of my home getting weatherized along with comfortable heat generating through my home for my husband’s return. I thank you in advance.

I am currently pregnant and unemployed in Goldsboro North Carolina. I have been searching for a job but is very difficult to find one. I live with my 2 yrs old daughter and I am single. We do not need to see any unemployment proof. That is great that you took initiative to meet with Mayor and do other things to improve your situation. As far as aid for your dilemma or additional support, look into low income assistance programs. The federal and state government offer many options, and that is a good summary of them. That car insurance seems high. Maybe look for some savings there too.

The good news is at least you were not laid off. So you have some income as you continue to look for a new job in Phoenix. They do have options for people with a financial hardship.
