Re: Does the government have free money for seniors age 50+?
Hello, Mr. McNamara
I was reviewing posts and found your information as page Administrator, when you replied to someone $900/month in taxes was too much. I have to pay over $1,000.
I've lived alone for over ten years, am being forced to rent a part, am retired with under $1000 (having to work again in what I can) and property taxes have been raised six-fold to over $13,000 now, for everyone that knows my case, illegitimately, after always paying taxes to the last penny).
Obviously for the last 12 years they've drained my savings, had to use my excellent credit ($0 debt) to max-out cards only to pay the taxes the last year they were paid, and I have last year past-due, with the current year soon being past-due also.
There are organizations promising assistance but I know not all are valid. Do you know of any active, legitimate ones that will give loans specifically for taxes or senior grants?
Thank you very much for your help,

Hello,
My name is Cynthia. I’m a senior citizen with a pet dog named Fancy who has a tumor that needs to be biopsy, but my Vet has given me an estimate of between $750-$1,100, which there’s no way I can afford. I’m living in SSI/Social Security. But it’s just my dog & I and she’s, my world. Can you refer me to anyone or government benefit program that might help? I’ve been trying for the past 2 weeks without any luck to get the money to pay for the surgery. I’ll attach a copy of the estimate.
Thank you in advance for any referrals, free vet car services or information on government assistance that will give me the money I need, and thanks for the help you can provide.

Hi Nathan,
The short answer is "maybe", and the long answer is the government has benefits that can provide money to people over the age of 50. But it depends on your state (such as AR may have some), income levels, and other factors. So while you can think of it as "free money", it is not just literally handed to you or people. There are many criteria, and look here for details. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... money.html

My name is Nathan and I live in Fort Smith Arkansas in Sebastian county. I am in dire need of money from the government for rental. I cannot find anyone or a government agency that has the funds to help. If I don't have my rent paid in full by the 31st, eviction will be filed.
I recently just took a job as an in-home caregiver for my neighbor who is 63. I walk to work round trip everyday! I have not had an opportunity to generate enough income to where I can pay myself as I was recently injured in a car accident and was not able to work for the last couple of years consistently. I'm a senior citizen at 53 years old. I need money from the government. I can be reached at any time! Please help? Thank you.
