Husband is in jail - Now can't pay bills and need help
Re: Husband is in jail - Now can't pay bills and need help
Hey Jessica,
I’m so sorry you’re dealing with all of this at once. You will get through this.
Since you already have a caseworker named Shira, call her back first thing. Tell her you have an official eviction notice in hand and ask her for an emergency referral to local Salvation Army or St. Vincent de Paul programs. Having that letter usually bumps you to the front of the line for emergency funding.

Re: Husband is in jail
Hi, my name is Jessica
I am new to all of this as I'm not used to being unemployed. Money ran out between transportation for kids/school/doctor's/sports/ and husband being arrested. I came out on the short end unable to pay my rent.
I don't know where to go from here, I just know from my case worker Shira, she told me to contact you.
I have the eviction letter if needed. Thank you!

Re: Husband is in jail
Hi Chris and Sam (in jail),
3 days is not much time to get help. And yes, North Dakota is limited in options for rent help, eviction prevention and really any options. Not only is in MAGA / GOP (so they talk about helping working class yet steal from them and offer no opportunities), but other charities and programs are limited. All we can suggest is maybe community action in ND, with options listed including for Minot at https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... tion_.html

Re: Husband is in jail
Hi,
So if seems like you are looking for help if/when your husband leave jail as an "ex-prisoner" or felon or whatever term is not "frowned upon" these days? If so, look here for programs. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... money.html
As far as help right now, for you to make it through daily life on a lower income and grants for the bills while he is in prison, try this. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... bills.html

Husband is in jail - Now can't pay bills and need help
I am a SINGLE mother of a 2 and 1 year old and my husband is in jail. I am currently 6 months pregnant and I just started a new job but I am so far behind on rent because I wasn't making enough money at my previous job to support me and my children alone. I have called numerous of church's and have went to my neighborhood place in my area. There seems to be no one to help me me with my husband in jail and I really need the help before my landlord kicks us out.
The house we are renting is being sold and we need to be out by March 22. We found a new place but need help with deposits. We need to put $1000 down ASAP because the rental market is so scarce. Then we will need first and last of $1600 each. At least need help with the deposit of $1000 to make sure it isn't rented by someone else. Please help ASAP. Thank you so much. Is there anyone to help those with incarcerated husbands or partners?
