Due to my mistake dealing with my elderly mother's bank account, her entire social security check was taken for this month. I did manage to get family members to pay the rent for this month but her cable and phone are disconnected. I know that sounds like luxuries but for her they are necessities.

I am a 27 year old female with a 6 year old disabled son. I work at Jack in the Box making $7.35 per hour. I try to work 40 hours per week but it does not always work that way. My son only gets $491.70 per month and I make MAYBE $440 bi weekly.
Our rent is $350, lights are $85.00 per month, water is $60 per month and we do not receive food stamps. We live in Bacliff, TX which is Galveston County and we are having trouble paying our rent as well as for food.
I try to apply for cash assistance, go to food banks and local food fairs but due to my work and the fact that we have no car makes things extremely difficult. I constantly cry because my son says it’s too hot to be walking but that is our only way to get around. Please, anything you can do to help. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

If you have a lighing bill problem, try LIHEAP in SC. But if it is cash assistance you need, then the program to apply for is TANF. Read more details. This is the main federal government program that will provide cash for months to a very low income family, often with kids. But you have a long list of needs....car, rent, electric, etc. so you need much more than TANF can provide. You probably need to live with family or friends to cut back until you can get on your own financial footing.

I really need help from a cash assistance program. We need a miracle. It's been four years and we haven't celebrated Xmas because my husband had a heart attack and he killed 39 percent of his heart and he had four quadby pass and he has broke his hip too.
Now my husband is diagnosed with lung cancer and he has other illnesses and it's so hard for us. My husband doctor says he is really ill. He tried to fight for his cash aid from SSI and he was denied and doctors says that they are just waiting for him to go but my husband can't work like he use too. But he does try though and it hurts us because we stay here and there.

reside in New York City. I recently applied for temporary assistance and they forwarded me to a workforce program called Back to Work. My case is currently pending and I am wondering if I do find a part time/full time position with the help of someone within the program, do they still allow me to collect public assistance. Or is it once I get a part time/full time job they close the case and concur that I am working now and do not need assistance?
I am just really confused and I feel HRA in NYC wasn’t really to helpful in answering my questions. The basics of my question is wondering, if my case is pending and I get a part time/full time position with utilizing the back to work program, do they still give me temporary assistance for a period of time, or do they close my case and turn off my temp assistance? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am a pregnant mother of 4 soon to be 5, I am currently unemployed and soon to be homeless. As of right now my utilities are already shut off. I am due for my 5th child in September and currently had to stop working at my 3+ year job due to pregnancy complications.

Marysville is located in Blount County Tennessee. So with all of those bills and needs you mentioned, try the local community action agency. They even have information on job training programs for your unemployed husband. However, you also need to budget, as you seem to still have cable for some reason even though you are behind on everything else. Cable is a want, and not a need. In other words, cable won't do you much good if you are evicted and homeless. Your cable should have been cancelled months ago. My husband got laid off for three weeks in December of 2012, for these reason is that we got behind on our rent. We owe 3 months. Our utilities are also behind one month, our cell phone bill to, and our cable bill. No car, in SC you need a car to survive. I've been borrowing and getting handouts so far. But now lights are about to get turned off on the 29th and the rent is due on the 5th of May. My husband has Crohn's Disease and has missed eight days (a full paycheck) this month due to a flare up. He has been to the doctor multiple times and because we are on Medicaid, a referral to a GI has still not been made. I work full time as a Pre-K teacher, but injured my shoulder in September and have been out of works since. I had a shot and started PT in November and am expected to be released March 7 to return to work, however we don't have a dime. And with 3 children, if we get evicted, we will have nowhere to go. I've tried all the charities, no one had funding. We get food stamps and Medicaid, but don't qualify for cash aid because we both work. I live in Fort Worth Texas. I am currently a COMMON VARIABLE IMMUNO-DEFICIENCY patient with no immune system and I have all medical records of the local hospital. My doctor has also written my partially disability (Unknown and no time limit) on Texas Department of Human Services Form when I was applying for Food Stamps. I was hospitalized 4 times in less than a year with C-diff and Pneumonia and other symptoms. Sorry to say, but there are not any assistance programs for paying insurance or providing tags for cars. Just doesn't exist. That being said, maybe you will qualify for other aid, which will free up money for those expenses. Maybe even some ways to pay for those medical bills for your fathers heart attack. I need help getting my lights on and getting the insurance on my car and getting my driving license from suspension and the tag on my car. My husband had a heart attack in April of this year and has to have open heart surgery again. He has to have someone stay with him at all times. I got layed off when he had his heart attacks in April of this year. We moved into his brothers house to save money. We had to do some work on it and have it rewired and city had to come and inspect it before we had to have the lights cut on cause none had lived in it for over a year and the city said we had to have it inspected. it will cost us 533.00 to have the light turned on. During this time my car insurance had driving license and tag has expired. my husband cannot work he is disabled. All we need is a little help with this so i can get back on my feet before he has to go back in the hospital to have open heart surgery again. He cant be there with no electric he has to have breathing treatments everyday. im asking for the cash help so i can get back on my feet and most of all for the health of my husband. It started with my ex-husband rapidly getting behind on child support due to being unemployed and unable to find any job. Then my only car necessary to get to work died. It ended up being the transmission and a $3200 repair bill. In the meantime, I had to get to work 10 miles away so I rented a car from Enterprise. Even though the rate was reasonable, the longer I kept the rental, the longer it took to pay the mechanic. Ultimately my mechanic let me "rent" my own car and is holding the title til I pay in full. Since August 8th I still owe him 200. I have been paying everything I make toward repair and rental, am close to having utilities shut off, being sued by my town home association for nonpayment and not having a dryer vent inspection done. I'm almost 2 months behind on a newly modified mortgage and I owe more than selling house would net. I filed bankruptcy in 2009 and have no credit. My one friend for 10years who used to help my on occasion bailed because "I'm a *". Who wouldn't be when I have a son to support, a job to get to, no reliable car to get there and living even worse than paycheck to paycheck? If I'm not overdrawn then I have less than $10 in account at payday and have had to borrow gas money to get to work.If my ex husband can't get one job how am I going to get a 2nd job and leave a rebellious 15 year old unsupervised even more?I make a decent paycheck(too much for any public cash assistance) but find myself unable to recover from this over $5000 car expense between repair and rental. I also am going to need new tires riding originals at 92k miles and brakes. I dread getting a blowout on my way to overnight job. I'm losing sleep, getting migraines, and sinking into a major depression.
