This is mostly for very low income families, so not sure if your grandmother will qualify. But we do have details on homw to apply for cash assistance in all states. The phone numbers, office names, etc. are all listed on the site.

Due to my mistake dealing with my elderly mother's bank account, her entire social security check was taken for this month. I did manage to get family members to pay the rent for this month but her cable and phone are disconnected. I know that sounds like luxuries but for her they are necessities.
She hardly leaves her apartment at all. One time before when her cable got disconnected, she actually got suicidal. Please help us with any type of cash assistance. Groceries are hard to come by right now also. Thank you in advance for your time and help.

I am a 27 year old female with a 6 year old disabled son. I work at Jack in the Box making $7.35 per hour. I try to work 40 hours per week but it does not always work that way. My son only gets $491.70 per month and I make MAYBE $440 bi weekly.
Our rent is $350, lights are $85.00 per month, water is $60 per month and we do not receive food stamps. We live in Bacliff, TX which is Galveston County and we are having trouble paying our rent as well as for food.
I try to apply for cash assistance, go to food banks and local food fairs but due to my work and the fact that we have no car makes things extremely difficult. I constantly cry because my son says it’s too hot to be walking but that is our only way to get around. Please, anything you can do to help. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

If you have a lighing bill problem, try LIHEAP in SC. But if it is cash assistance you need, then the program to apply for is TANF. Read more details. This is the main federal government program that will provide cash for months to a very low income family, often with kids. But you have a long list of needs....car, rent, electric, etc. so you need much more than TANF can provide. You probably need to live with family or friends to cut back until you can get on your own financial footing.

I really need help from a cash assistance program. We need a miracle. It's been four years and we haven't celebrated Xmas because my husband had a heart attack and he killed 39 percent of his heart and he had four quadby pass and he has broke his hip too.
Now my husband is diagnosed with lung cancer and he has other illnesses and it's so hard for us. My husband doctor says he is really ill. He tried to fight for his cash aid from SSI and he was denied and doctors says that they are just waiting for him to go but my husband can't work like he use too. But he does try though and it hurts us because we stay here and there.
Now my kids only ask for a miracle and have a great tree so please if you can call me.

To whom it may concern,
reside in New York City. I recently applied for temporary assistance and they forwarded me to a workforce program called Back to Work. My case is currently pending and I am wondering if I do find a part time/full time position with the help of someone within the program, do they still allow me to collect public assistance. Or is it once I get a part time/full time job they close the case and concur that I am working now and do not need assistance?
I am just really confused and I feel HRA in NYC wasn’t really to helpful in answering my questions. The basics of my question is wondering, if my case is pending and I get a part time/full time position with utilizing the back to work program, do they still give me temporary assistance for a period of time, or do they close my case and turn off my temp assistance? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am a pregnant mother of 4 soon to be 5, I am currently unemployed and soon to be homeless. As of right now my utilities are already shut off. I am due for my 5th child in September and currently had to stop working at my 3+ year job due to pregnancy complications.
Please reply and let me know if there is anything or anyway someone out there can help. I currently don't receive no food or any kind of assistance as I didn't need them while I was working but since I lost my job I can not provide the funds or essentials for my children. Thank you for your time and I pray someone can help.

Marysville is located in Blount County Tennessee. So with all of those bills and needs you mentioned, try the local community action agency. They even have information on job training programs for your unemployed husband. However, you also need to budget, as you seem to still have cable for some reason even though you are behind on everything else. Cable is a want, and not a need. In other words, cable won't do you much good if you are evicted and homeless. Your cable should have been cancelled months ago. Regardless, find the Marysville and Blount programs here. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... ction.html

Our utilities are also behind one month, our cell phone bill to, and our cable bill. In food we are good because we get food stamps, my husband has a full time job but it doesn't seem to help much we don't seem to get up to date with the bills, we live in Maryville Tennessee. I'm also still looking for a job have applied everywhere, so please we just need a little bit of help. Thank you so much in advance if someone could help us.. God bless and have a good day.

Need light bill and rent assistance. Divorced. Lost job, unemployment exhausted, and working part time sporadically doing private duty home care. Just joined an agency but work is temporary. No car, in SC you need a car to survive. I've been borrowing and getting handouts so far. But now lights are about to get turned off on the 29th and the rent is due on the 5th of May. I can’t even live in my car because I don't have one. Lost nowhere to go don't know what to do. End of my rope. Can use any help I can get. Have many qualifications and experience but due to economy and no car it is hard. No parents grandparents or immediate family to help. Have exhausted all friends and extended family. Help please!

My husband has Crohn's Disease and has missed eight days (a full paycheck) this month due to a flare up. He has been to the doctor multiple times and because we are on Medicaid, a referral to a GI has still not been made. I work full time as a Pre-K teacher, but injured my shoulder in September and have been out of works since. I had a shot and started PT in November and am expected to be released March 7 to return to work, however we don't have a dime. And with 3 children, if we get evicted, we will have nowhere to go. I've tried all the charities, no one had funding. We get food stamps and Medicaid, but don't qualify for cash aid because we both work. Please, if there is anything anyone can do, it would be greatly appreciated.

This past year has been a little hard on us. I'm not giving up on my family-- I will keep sending requests and wait, and wait-- I know everyone can't be HELPED I'm just hoping to be one of the lucky ones that does receive help. I am seeking contributions for to help me with or get me through the rest of the year. I would really appreciate donations in money to help get me through I have been in school for over a year full time and receive food stamps and cash assistance but live month to month doing this and I just can't seem to catch up-- I go to school full time and internship so this takes a lot of my day. I have been fighting for SSI benefits for over a year and I struggle each and every day trying to stay in school-- I have so many appointments because I have a lot of health issues and trying to keep up with life itself is taking its toll, sometimes I feel like I just might NOT wake up the next day cause I run myself bare, hurting each and every night, but I FORCE myself to do it. I can't believe I'm waiting so long to ask for this help-- but I'm EMBARRASSED.. I'm first and foremost a mother and that does mean a lot to me-- these days it is just so HARD... Please- Please help me. I really need this help, I’m trying to get any kind of assistance to get a place to rent-- I don't have money like that to just give. I have cash assistance that I live off month to month, I would appreciate all and any help possible right now. I will take ANYTHING at this point I setup this account but I don’t know if it works- Please let me know even IF you can’t help me.. I do thank you for taking the time to even open and read this email.

I live in Fort Worth Texas. I am currently a COMMON VARIABLE IMMUNO-DEFICIENCY patient with no immune system and I have all medical records of the local hospital. My doctor has also written my partially disability (Unknown and no time limit) on Texas Department of Human Services Form when I was applying for Food Stamps. I was hospitalized 4 times in less than a year with C-diff and Pneumonia and other symptoms. I have recently applied for disability though SSA and my attorney has told me that my case is very strong and I have hearing on October 25, 2012. I have taken 5 times Leave of Absence from my work because of pains and pass out on floors. Please help me for Rent or Utility bill. I am very much empty handed. I have completed my Associates degree from Tarrant County College with 4.00 GPA but no physical strength to work anywhere, I have all medical documents and unpaid medical bills and I would sign any document to request for medical evidence for verification purposes. Please help me for Rent or Utilities.

I recently had to quit my job as a passing medical tech because of my anxiety. I haven't been seen by a doctor yet. My husband is starting a job on the 29th through a temp service but we are struggling to pay out light bill and our rent and need some help. Our rent is $565 which is due Sept 1st and our light bill is $221 which is due August 23rd. We have two children, and no one to help us. So we wanted to know if there was any way for your services to provide us with some help. We live in Orlando Florida.

Sorry to say, but there are not any assistance programs for paying insurance or providing tags for cars. Just doesn't exist. That being said, maybe you will qualify for other aid, which will free up money for those expenses. Maybe even some ways to pay for those medical bills for your fathers heart attack. Find the Florida programs here. http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/flo ... grams.html

A number of national, state, and local government programs can help with those various needs. Our best summary is here and read how to get assistance from government and get a great summary of the programs and plans. Some can offer cash assistance, some debt counseling, and others more referrals. The bottom line is that there are dozens of financial assistance programs offered by various levels of government out there. Make some calls and look around for aid.
