Hi,
Car repair help is not common. Are you in the city of San Fran? Do you even need a car? Either way try the community action (YMCA) there and the info is here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... grams.html
We also have our general car repair assistance here too. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... pairs.html

Hi,
Sorry to read that about your daughter. Have you looked into some of the charities that help people with medical issues - maybe they will address transportation or the repairs? But in Topeka, try the community action for help. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... ansas.html
There is also a foundation that helps people with Healthwell has a program for it - or at least they did. Maybe look into that? https://www.healthwellfoundation.org/st ... l-disease/

I take care of her and am also disabled.
Due to error by auto parts store, the only transportation we have for medical and emergencies has been in need of repairs and does not work. We need free car repairs and have needed them for 2 months now. Help please.

Hello Kanika,
Now of course if you need the car fixed for work, that may be possible from some charities or volunteer mechanics. But of course those services are limited, hard to find and within reason. So maybe some minor parts or labor may be done. But look here for a list of places to try. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... pairs.html

Hi,
Here are programs to fix a car. As far as new tires, we do not know. Many some of the charities or mechanics that will fix your car for free will also address the tires? Or maybe charge you for the tires but do the install/labor for free? But you need to ask, and the car repair programs are here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... pairs.html

Hello,
Could you please send me information regarding assistance for car repairs, and to buy new tires.
I've had several interviews, but I was, and am unable to go on any of them because my car's Engine is locked, and the Transmission is also bad. Also, my Unemployment Benefits are only $80.00 per week. My car repair totals $4,550.00. My Engine and Transmission needs to be replaced.
I'm simply not able to pay all my bills, nor to fix my car.

Hi there
My name is Christine. I'm a single mother who is low income who needs car repairs, including for leaking oil. My only car that I still make payments for month for year now has had so many issues I keep fixing. Oil leaks, alternator, starter, the while electrical box and heater hose besides the usual maintenance. The car is now having transmission problems that are too expensive for my income to fix. I tried places that offer financing but my credit is too low and they are too expensive.
Do you have a program that offers assistance for repairs for cars to leaking oil fixes? Could I please have a link to apply....I also applied for CAP but that is for emission issues..
Thank you so very much
Christine

My name is Kanika, I'm a North Carolina resident and need my car repair I guess for free as I have no money. I suffer from congestive heart failure and other health issues. Despite my illness I care for my elderly mother who suffers from advance stage dementia. She is currently hospitalized and has been for the past 2 months.
On October 25, 2023, she had peg put on place for tube feeding. When leaving the hospital my car broke down. My vacuum pump went out on the car. Since I'm on disability a friend offered to put on the part for me to help me save money, long as I got the part. Long story short on November 8 2023 I had to put my car in the shop because it still wouldn't start even after the vacuum pump.
Turns out when the vacuum pump went out pieces of broke off and traveled into the engine, and now I need a new engine and that repaired or replaced for free. I have no idea how I'm going to come up with all the money, I do have 1685 towards it money I save plus money from some family members.
Originally the shop thought it may have been the timing chain but later realized it wasn't. The money I have was to pay for that repair. The shop did find a used engine with a warranty the cost for it plus labor would be an additional 2500. I called different organization in my area for help, and no one offers help for car repair other the DHS, but you must receive cash assistance under the TANF program to qualify. My car is medically necessary not only for myself but my mother as well.
I have prayed and cried out for a free car repair and an feeling defeated ask God to please give me strength to bare all that's going on. Also to please send me a miracle. I never thought I would be in position where I would have to be on my phone calling around for help, pleading with them in tears. I have only seen my mother one time since my car broke down. When I was at the hospital daily since she was admitted on September 6 2023. I live in the country where there's no public transportation, no cabs, or Uber service.
Only one family member offered to take me which is how was able to see her the one time, and it breaks my heart with my mom in the hospital alone surrounded by nothing that's familiar to her. She is no longer verbal, can't eat or drink any longer, sometimes she alert, but most of the time she isn't unless she hears a familiar voice. The hospital has done all they could so mom will be discharged home , until she is called to heavenly home. Meanwhile through all this I still need to be able to make my doctor appointments once the car is repaired for free, and be able to get my vital medications. The stress from it all has my BP to be out of control even with taking my medications. That's why I spend a lot of time praying for a miracle. Everything I'm saying can be proven my mother's name. I pray you can help me, if not I thank you greatly for your time. God Bless

Since you need the car for a job, and the engine fixed, look for a grant. Some organization's may offer grants to fix an auto if it is for work reasons. Find other details on how to get auto repair grant money.

Greetings: my name is Icemin, and 4 weeks ago the engine in my car suddenly and unexpectedly died! I need free automobile repairs as I can't pay for the engine. Subsequently I lost my job as I commute to make a living!
Needless to say the bills are stacking up which leads to a downhill spiral into rental eviction and displacement!
I desperately seek your help and financial support in this crisis! To get back to work my car needs a newer used engine swap. I'm not expecting your agency to pay for all of it! But if I could at least purchase the used engine from Standard Auto and Salvage on Granite Street in Worcester, MA.
I can then reach out to The Salvation Army and my local parish and churches to help support the labor and installation! To be honest, I'm still trying to get back on my feet from the pandemic! And my car breaking down couldn't have come at a worse time as Christmas is around the corner, and the stress of this hardship is a lot to bear!
Please reach out to me by email to tell me how to get free automobile repairs. Note cell as my service will be cancelled at the end of the month do in part to having zero income for 4 weeks!

Hello,
My name is Dori and I live in Washington state and I need car repairs. I am a senior on a limited income. I also received state and federal assistance with housing.
I found your email address while I was looking for help getting my car fixed. I have a 21-year-old car which I am the original owner of. Recently I took it in for a free safety check. That free safety check report added up to some money that I do not have. Then the other day I was coming home and the check engine light came on, needing more car repairs. I took it to the auto store and they said it could be the catalytic converter but I would have to have a mechanic look at it. Needless to say for someone who doesn't know much about cars I know that adds up. I bought this car brand new back in 2001. I live in a very small rural community in Washington state. I cannot be without a vehicle. I need my vehicle to go to the doctor to go to the grocery store go to the Post office and run other errands. I also have a therapy animal and I have to be able to take that animal to the vet if it is necessary to do so.
So I will have to make an appointment with a mechanic for the car repairs whom I trust and see what exactly the code from the check engine light actually is. If I were to have everything repaired that was first given to me that would add up to $1,400. But the people at my mechanic said I probably don't need to have all of that fixed. But I do not know because I don't know anything about vehicles. I did get a battery which cost $200. That's a lot of money for someone like me.
If something else goes wrong it's going to cost some money. And probably it won't be worth fixing. Because my car is 21 years old. I haven't had any problems with it for a long time it doesn't make any funny noises or do anything strange.
I looked on many websites and spent five hours searching. There doesn't seem to be a lot of help for people who live in Washington state needless to say there isn't a lot of help for people who live in Jefferson county Washington.
So I only have one organization that can help me but they can only give me $500 upon receipt from my mechanic. Undoubtedly that's probably not even going to be a drop in the bucket. And I have no way to pay for any of it so I'm not even sure if repairs will be worth it or if I will have to get another vehicle. And I probably can't do that either. So I'm reaching out to you and I hope that you will be able to help the 62-year-old senior lady because I really need help.
I know times are tough for a lot of people and I receive food stamps I'm on Medicare I have section 8 housing and I barely get by. So can you please please help me with this?

Hi Jacqueline
While you are looking for someone to fix/repair the leaking oil in your car, look into a disability program. There are many that can provide you with a ride or so for work. Find them here for free.

If the car is leaking oil, try one of the car repair grant programs. There are community action agencies, job centers and other programs out there that may assist. Look here for car repair grant programs.

Hello, my name is Manfred from Atlanta Georgia. I'm in desperate need of finding resources to help with my car repairs as it is leaking oil. I'm a 57 year old Disabled man, I receive a monthly SSDI Benefits check but have had to supplement my income by driving for Lyft and Uber. My car has been unable to be driven because the brakes are bad and need to be replaced and is also in need of general maintenance such as oil change, tire rotation, etc. The oil leak is really bad.

Because I cannot drive the vehicle I'm quite frankly out of money and can't pay for the repairs, my insurance has been cancelled due to non payment and my car payment is way overdue. If you could possibly help me out with a list of resources you might have I would be so grateful and as I said earlier I reside in Atlanta, Georgia. Thank you for your consideration because without this car I cannot work and I risk losing everything if I'm unable to supplement my income by driving for Lyft and Uber.

To whom it May concern.
I introduce myself by the name of Anthony.
Good afternoon, I use this means of communication to request information on a free program or association that can help me with the repair of my vehicle that broke down last week in the morning on the way from my house to my children's school. I already consulted several opinions with various mechanical workshops about an estimate of the cost of repairing the car and for me, unfortunately, the damage is the engine and the most recommended option they give is the replacement of a used engine and the total cost already with the service It is approximately $4,400, which is impossible for me to cover that amount because months ago I had a reduction in hours at work due to covid-19, which has barely reached me to cover the costs of renting the house and payments for public services where I and my family live, we are a total of 5 people.
2 adults and my 3 minor children.
And because of this breakdown of my vehicle, which is very expensive and impossible for me to cover, is that I have found myself with the urgent need to seek some type of help or information where they can offer me help with this situation with my car,. I need free automobile repairs. Since last week Since my car broke down, it has been too complicated for me to continue with my daily transportation needs.
Which I use my vehicle daily to transport my children to their school, my transport to work and for supermarket purchases have been complicating me daily. I would be very grateful if you could provide me with any type of information or free help to be able to give a solution to this situation of automobile repair that I can't pay that I am going through, below I leave my contact information, preferred language, Spanish, thank you.

There are some DIY Car repairs. The parts are usually still need to be bought (or look for a charity to help pay for them), but do it yourself could save on labor costs.
