Re: Help. I am disabled and unable to pay my bills

Post by Kathy_Matts »

Hello, my name is Kandace. I am requesting financial or utility assistance and I am unable to work, unable to pay my bills and disabled. I applied for disability when I got my diagnosis of cancer I had a surgery last month and I will be starting chemo and radiation next month. More often than not I’m sick and not able to care for myself I have a dog That I try my best to do what I can for her. I have no family to speak of.
I had a friend who I thought was the friend that came to help me not long after I got out of the hospital in January.
He wasn’t really a friend. He stole a lot of things from me. I am reaching out because I have no resources. And I am unable to work right now. I have worked all my life and have never had this problem before I never thought I wouldn’t be able to do so. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you have a good day.

Re: Disability claim pending

In these cases, for claims pending and no answer from the social security administration, then look into professional help. There are advocates, lawyers, and others. Find a disability lawyer to help with filings.

Hello,
My name is Sarah. I live in Clearfield, Kentucky in Rowan County and we have a pending disability claim. My husband recently broke his ankle and had to have surgery on it. We've been fighting with the hospital, Dr's office and his jobs temporary disability program and still haven't gotten it resolved. The disability claim is still pending.
But, even then we have been struggling with his paychecks week to week anyways, let alone with only 50% disability. Are their any programs in my area that are still helping with rent and bills? I was looking into the eviction and utility relief program but they've closed all applications due to lack of pending funding. We have to little boys and really need help. Thank you for it.

Re: Many home repairs for my disability

While electrical issues may be harder for basic home repairs, it is possible. But the disability is also a reason why you may qualify, as many programs help people who are older and/or disabled. Look here for free home repairs.

I am disabled and I need emergency help with home repairs to help with my specific disability.
I just found out that I have a serious electrical problem that affects the entire house.
I also have a very big hole in my bathroom ceiling and a toilet that works on and off.
I don't have any money for these disability repairs and I very scared.
I am unmarried with no children.
My parents have passed away and I'm on my own.
I need help.
It's taken these serious necessary repairs to reach out for help.
Most of my money goes to healthy groceries.
My injury requires that I eat what can help me to live with lesser pain.

Senior on permanent disability as income

Post by Maxie »

Hello, I'm a 61-year-old female who lives on permanent disability and my income is well below the government poverty level. I only make $861 a month and I wear an upper denture which recently got broken accidentally so my dentist sent in for prior authorization to Medicaid for a new upper denture but they denied the request so I sent in an appeal. Even had my doctor's office called them but my appeal got denied as well so I have to pay for them on my own because that would be two more years before Medicaid would pay for my denture and medically I cannot wait that long.
I have a dental appointment with my dentist on April 29th although I don't have all the money to pay for the denture due to my low income from permanent disability. I needed to go in to make sure how much it was going to be with the upper denture is $1,600.
I can't expect help with all of it I don't like asking for help to begin with but I don't have a choice because I have been without an upper denture since October 2021 and not being able to eat like I'm supposed to is causing my health issues to be worse.
I have what's called gastroparesis which means my stomach does not digest food so my food needs to be chewed up as much as possible to be able to get down into the intestine and I can't hardly eat anything so there is a Saint Vincent de Paul here in Wauseon Ohio where I live but I have severe hearing loss and I'm not able to talk on the phone and to be honest my kids are too busy to help me and I don't have much family left or anyone else to call for me.
So I am really hoping that you can help me in any way to help with the cost of the upper denture because it's medically necessary for me, as a senior whose only income is disability, to have one not to mention that I have depression and high anxiety and I rarely leave my apartment. So please respond to my messages as soon as possible so I know whether or not you can help me because I have been searching for months for help and have not found anyone.
If I could get some assistance I have the name and address of my dentist that I can give. I hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you
Terri

Hi my name is Colleen. I am a mother of 5 boys and I am begging for your help as I am disabled and unable to pay my bills. After exhausting all options it's come down to asking for help. We've currently had to move in with my aunt and uncle due to financial issues. I'm permanently disabled, and my husband is out of work as is many other people. It's been 2 years since we've had a Thanksgiving or Christmas so I'm asking you for any help you could to see that our family has a Thanksgiving and Christmas this year.
Sincerely,
Colleen

Greetings,
My husband is a stroke survivor and now disabled; however, he's struggling with the debilitating effects. A post-stroke treatment was brought to my attention that will minimize the effects, enhancing his quality of life. Insurance doesn't cover it, so I need financial assistance to pay for it. We would be eternally grateful for whatever aid that you can provide. Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Re: Retirement disability payments not enough

Post by Sadness »

Hi I am in desperate need of gas money to go back and forth to work starting tomorrow. We have been living on my husband's disability and retirement payments, due to me being in a bad car accident January 22, 2018.
My vehicle was totaled, and I was hurt badly. I have been without a paycheck for 3 months other than our small retirement. I get to start back to work tomorrow, but, I have less than half a tank of gas, and we have maybe $.50 to our names until May.
I tried going to St. Vincent de Paul, but they do not assist in gas anymore.
We have pawned what we could, I have asked family members. But no luck.
I am desperate to get my life back, and believing God is greater. We are also almost out of insulin, which my. Husband and I both take. We get the generic brand from Walmart which is so much cheaper.
Please help if possible. Thank you for your time.

Re: Household with disabled kids losing water service

Post by Admin - Jon McNamara »

Since you have disabled kids, have they or you applied for disability? Maybe that is an option to give you a little money to pay your water and other utility programs. As there is financial aid in all states for the disabled, and find details here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... stanc.html

I Marquis is desperately seeking rental assistance for my apartment at Killeen Texas, 76541.
I recently lost my job and was hospitalized for a mini stroke.
I'm seeking financial assistance for this month only.
If you have any information on utility assistance, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thank you and God bless you.

Since you had a stroke, and have no insurance, it can be challenging. Millions of Americans are impacted by strokes....some minor, some major. But many states have options for uninsured care. We have a list, and find a state by you.

I need help with getting social security/disability services to understand that I can no longer work for a paycheck. I have Multiple Sclerosis and I have fallen many times, the last really bad one broke my nose and eyeglasses. With that being said, the female at social security/disability was sure that I had been trying to defraud the system, because,  no one my age should be unable to work, and told me that $325/monthly is more than I deserve.

Re: SSD not enough!

Post by Barby »

Dear Sir/Madam:
I found this email address on a website concerning how to seek our financial assistance for lower income households, so I’m inquiring on behalf of someone else who is on SSD now but struggling.
My sister, Patricia, resides in Barry County, Missouri, and might qualify for some financial assistance in paying rent and medical bills. Her husband had a heart transplant many years ago and is on SSD, but it is not enough. The financial impact of the related medical costs coupled with the fact that her husband could not work much after the transplant has put them in a very awkward financial position.  They refused to file for bankruptcy and have a huge medical debt on which they pay a tiny amount each month. To the best of my knowledge, there was no IRA for them to rely.  If there was ever any retirement nest egg, the funds were used a long time back.
My sister has been reluctant to pursue getting financial assistance, thinking they do not qualify for anything. She and my brother-in-law are both drawing SSD, and they live is a very run-down house (over 100 years old), paying $300/month rent. From what I’m told by my nephew, the house in in bad condition--so bad that his opinion is that the rent is overstated for what they are getting.
I think their combined monthly income is around $3,500.00, but I’m unsure about the exact amount.  Because of the heart transplant-related drugs, they spend quite a bit on that each month above what is covered by his Part D Medicare insurance.  My sister is now having some medical issues; therefore, the monthly expenses are more than usual.  I discovered that my sister did not get any supplemental Part B or Part D insurance when starting Medicare a few years back because she “couldn’t afford the extra premiums.”
The fact is that my sister and brother-in-law are living in conditions that are jeopardizing their health, and they need some assistance other than SSD desperately. I send what I can to her from time to time, but that isn’t much.  I’m better off than them, but still far from rich.
Please let me know any contacts you have for available financial assistance programs in Barry County, Missouri, and I will pass along the information to her. I’ve included my phone number below if someone wishes to contact me by phone to discuss the issue.
Hope to hear from you soon. Happy Holidays!

I already checked all of that multiple times, I'm not finding what I’m looking for on that for disabled stroke patients, it's just showing me free phone stuff.
First of all, I would need to have state Medicaid and/or food stamps to qualify. I don’t have either of those yet while I wait on disability after my stroke.
I need a "Now" solution to get work & waiting for Medicaid & food stamps am not that solution. I need a job & a working phone to get a job. I already have & had my own phone for a while now, just need help with someone to help me pay my current phone, I don’t need another one. Plus, when I was in Arizona last, already had a lifeline & a couple other free phone brands. I won’t be able to get one.

Re: Many home repairs for my disability

Post by I am dreaming »

Do you have any programs for a disabled homeowner with a mortgage to get assistance for many home repairs?  I need all inside walls, linoleum replaced three rooms,  electric wiring checked out, and four rooms of carpet replaced, trash removed inside and outside, windows repaired,  and feces removed from appliances. This damage was done by a tenant receiving section 8 assistance in Rowan County.
I really want to find out about any programs for people like me. Who rent their homes to the tenants that used the section 8 voucher program? The $750 deposit will not be near enough for repairs and I don't have the money to pay out of pocket. My homeowner's insurance will not pay for the destruction that was done to my home. I could sue but she doesn't have anything but a new van. I would appreciate any information regarding my dilemma or please provide a referral solution for repairs for the disabled.Thank you,Edna B. Financial help for disabled stroke patient

Post by Relief13 »

Unfortunate mishaps in life occur to me having a stroke and becoming disabled. I seek assistance for housing because I had a stroke. The disability benefits I do get does not afford me to pay First, and Last month’s rent, plus security deposit, and furniture & appliances. It's unfortunate, and I'm forced to live in shared housing with other's that don't have the same aspirations and drive to live this way with a stroke. Low Income and Section 8 has a waiting list of a 3-year period. I know there's people out there that care to give financial help to stroke patients. I hope to help others too as an example to give solid evidence to aspire despite unfortunate mishaps in their lives. Seeking $1000-$2000.

Hello,
I am a single mom of three teenagers. One of my kids is in the autism spectrum, has severe add, and Tourette syndrome. He gets social security disability. I am a victim of domestic violence. When I left my abuser, my family was forced to separate, and I have become depressed. I feel hopeless. My kid's education has been compromised. All my family's social security cards and birth certificates have been stolen from us. My credit is horrible, and my car broke down yesterday. I can’t afford the repair. I currently don’t have a job or a reference for a job because I was a caregiver for my abuser's mother.
My son receives SSI Social Security Disability and I receive $80 per month for child support. I have an outstanding debt to a public housing authority. And I have a dog.
My family lived in Bremerton, Kitsap County, WA. I am in my broke down car in Shelton, Mason County, WA. My kids are staying with friends for now.
I have already been timed out on TANF and more Social Security Disability money. I don't have any resources.
Please help or point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance,
