Re: Resources from community action in New Jersey
Good morning, I am in New Jersey. I am looking for assistance with utilities and rent. I work full time when I am able, and I take classes online for my bachelor's degree. I want to better myself which is what I read community action help with. I was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and my medical bills have taken priority and I am too far behind now and worried I am facing eviction next month. Please let me know if there is anything available.

Re: Resources from community action in New Jersey
Hello, my name is Margarita. I am 26 years old with a 4 year old son with ADHD. I live inI NJ. I am currently looking for some help from community action with a security deposit and some assistance with rent for a home for my son and myself. As I left my sons father a few months ago and have been living with family members and it is becoming too crowded. I do have a full time job and I work 5 days a week, but I also need tips on getting a higher income using my skills. I am currently looking at places I can afford but just need a little help. Any information will help. Thank you in advance.

There is no way any agency will help you on one day notice. But you can try nonetheless. We can help you find New Jersey community action agencies as well as the programs they offer. Note they are county specific, so you need to contact a local one. Also maybe they can help you find some other government benefits in addition to the $111 per month...but those applications take time.

Re: Resources from community action in New Jersey
I'm a single parent raising two wonderful daughters in New Jersey. We have been living on about $200 per month until recently. We started to receive a full payment from child support so we have gotten out own place. We have been here now for one month and now we aren't getting any more money and rent is due in one day. Can community action agencies help us? We can't be homeless again. We get $111.00 a month from family's first and snap benefits for good but nothing else. We need help fast. Please.

Re: Delay in support from community action groups in New Jersey
Hi,
I am an 8 month pregnant mother of 2. I am currently out of work and trying to getting short term disability from community action because my workman’s comp stopped sometime in February. I am about to lose my house, my cable is turned off, my car insurance lapsed And I'm having a really hard time with getting social services to help. Can you please tell me any names of community action organizations in northern NJ that could maybe help us before were homeless? I'm desperate and don't know where to turn.

The community action agency does not process disability, so not sure what you mean. But they have other services, and find help from New Jersey community action agencies with bills, benefits, and more. Also, if you were in a car accident, what about insurance payments. Anyway, try the agencies we listed on the site.

Re: Resources from community action in New Jersey
Is there any help for a woman wanting to leave her alcoholic husband but can't afford to move in New Jersey??? I have a job and could manage to just get by on my own (barely) but I cannot afford the initial move including security deposits for rent and utilities. Is there any help out there from the community action agency?

That is good for you to acknowledge the millions of people that are also struggling. Many people in New jersey also need assistance, and while a community action agency is always a good resource, they are limited in what they can do. If you need short term funds for the training, and you know your income will definitely increase to justify that, have you considered a loan from say SBA or a government agency in NEw Jersey? Or even student financing? they may be options, and staff from community action can direct you to those. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... gency.html

Re: Delay in support from community action groups in New Jer
Hello, I reside in Plainfield N.J. I lost my job December 20, 2013 and collected unemployment from April and until now. In that time period I had applied for jobs, but with no success. I did find job a that trains you to have your own business. I did that from April 8, 2014 until August 27, 2014. It is a 6 to 8 week program. It is a marketing company that specializes in fragrances. It is a good program if you are young with no bills and living home with your parent's , but unfortunately I'm 54 years old with a teenage daughter and I am married.
The program does not pay for training and you only get paid if you sale the perfume. Well my bills suffered tremendously. Even though I am married my husband's salary is not enough to maintain our monthly bills. I truly am in need of financial help. I know there are millions of Americans like myself that are in need of help. If by someway there is funds available I would to get help financially for my husband and I to catch up on our bills.

Delay in support from community action groups in New Jersey
I am writing to day to ask if you might be able to help my son and I catch up with our rent in New Jersey. I receive unemployment and every time there is a new extension it takes 3-4 weeks before I receive a check from the community action agency. Needless to say I am behind on July rent. Please if there is anything you can do to help I would be greatly appreciated.

Resources needed from from community action in New Jersey
I live in Trenton, NJ, Mercer County. I am receiving Social Security Disability (SSDI). I have a mortgage, property taxes, homeowners insurance, water bill, medical bills and car insurance. I am requesting help to find a part-time job working at home online. Jobs that I am seeking are: online juror; data entry; medical transcriber; typing in any capacity; proficient in excel and word. I need to work from home due to extreme knee and back problems; unable to walk or stand for long periods.
I would also be interested in having my car repaired, I have a doctor appointment at least four times a month. I have a 2003 GMC in need of a muffler replacement which would cost approximately $300-$350.
Any help or referrals would be greatly appreciated.
I Started receiving SSDI in 2012. Last part-time job while on disability with (NCOA) allowed me to work from home doing forms with excel and Word. The job ended 8/2/2013 because a company called Pathstone community action received the new contract from NCOA July 2013. This company requested me to come into the office everyday for 3-4 hours a day which caused my low back and knee pain to worsen.
Any type of home employment making at least $200/week would be helpful.
