Looking for help in Dallas, TX - PLEASE HELP

I am on Social Security, and my father is too. He is diabetic and 77 years old. I am 47, have seizures, just had back surgery, and have a spinal stimulator. I cannot drive or move much. We are behind on the house bills and food and TXU and barely making it.
TUX told me I had to make the payment of $482.22 by 10/28/25 or it will be turned off. I am on 17 medications. I have reached out to Dallas County for help with bills and meds, but they told me they already helped me once this year. I have reached out to four other places, but they said there are no funds.
I am stressed and very worried. Please call me as soon as possible.

I have been trying for over a month to find someone in Dallas who can help me pay my rent, bills, and food. I have filled out several applications, and the only thing they send me are applications for loans, bank promotions, online jobs answering questions, or they say they will send me an application by mail, which isn't true. I've received many calls from banks asking for loans or related things, but no one is asking me to help me pay my rent.
Two months ago, I was extremely sick with a respiratory infection. I went to the doctor. He gave me antibiotics, and I was home for 5 days. He called work to let them know. Four days after I returned to work, the infection returned, but this time it was stronger. I had to go to another doctor because I think the previous one didn't give me the antibiotics I needed. I called my work again to let them know. The doctor ordered me to rest for at least 10 days, which was when I finished my medications. He recommended avoiding sudden temperature changes, as my system was overly sensitive. I'd already received these recommendations on several occasions, but work ignored them. When I called my boss at work, I told him about the recommendations, and he told me that Iván would have to relocate me to another area since the one I work in doesn't follow medical recommendations. I reminded him that I had already spoken to him about it, but they hadn't listened to me. Furthermore, the schedule they had imposed on me was detrimental to me since I couldn't attend my medical appointments. I told him I was also going to look. I'd see where I could get a transfer. To summarize, I've been dealing with health problems for over a year. I have four broken and infected molars, for which they've only prescribed antibiotics and painkillers since I don't have insurance and haven't been able to get treatment. I also developed a hernia a year ago that continues to grow. Over a year ago, half of my face became paralyzed, and to this day, it hasn't fully healed. I've been to three assistance clinics so far and they haven't done anything for me. Three months ago, I moved to an apartment, and they stole more than half of my belongings. The moving fee I paid never arrived, and I couldn't get my money back. I couldn't move until the last day of the month until five days later, and that's when they robbed me. I couldn't move anything because of my hernia, and I looked for someone to help me, but I couldn't find anyone. I had to bring two people from the corners, but they're the ones who robbed me. The move was extremely expensive. At work, I used up all my PTO, and with all the above, I fell into depression, plus the tooth infections. The clinics that do not do their job, I am very desperate, and I do not have any family here, and at work they give me sick leave. There are days I cannot wake up. I sleep a lot, and I do not know what to do anymore. This is the third HIV clinic I have been to, and I have been for six months now. I have been to three doctor appointments. They tell me and promise me a lot of things, but I am still waiting for all my medications to be ready, for me to have a dentist’s appointment, and nothing. My social worker told me at the beginning of the month that she was going to help me pay my rent, and just two days ago she sent me the application to fill out. And yesterday she told me to start looking for a job as soon as possible because they were only going to help me pay this month, which is over, and that if I did not find a job, I should resign myself and find another place to live. Can someone explain to me if this is the way to help someone??? They have already left me two notices to pay my rent, and they called me from my apartment office to find out what had happened with the help I told them at the beginning of the month I was working on. Now they have cut off my electricity, and I have an eviction, and I have nowhere to go. The manager told me if I pay this month and next I can state here.
Therefore, I hope you can help me pay my rent and bills, so I have time to address my health and work issues.

Hi, my name is Ashley. I live in Dallas Texas. Up until now I've not been late in my bills. I could desperately use a little help and a blessing right now though. I was just given eviction court date papers and my electric final due date is Monday. I have 2 small children, and have never needed to figure out a way to help with my bills. Hello. My name is Rebekah. Recently this past November my daughter and I fled from a domestic abuse situation in Dallas Texas. She was 8 months pregnant at the time. We had to leave most of our things of memorialbia and pictures. Anything of monetary value he stole and we didn't have time to find movers for our furniture. Prior to this my Dad passed 2 Years ago in December and my son committed suicide 2 years this past February. His identical twin brother found his deceased body.
My ex husband is providing a roof over my daughter, grand baby and my head for now by the grace of God. But we just can't seem to get ahead. My two kids and myself are on a Family phone plan that is 2 months in rears and is due for shut off on the 15th. My daughter just started back working last week. Her daughter is a little over 8 weeks and I watch her while she's working and then I'm also a part time care taker for a disabled veteran. It worries me and riddles me with anxiety to think that if our phones are shut off that I won't be able to get a hold of my daughter or vice versa about the baby and my remaining sons mental health has Just rapidly been decreasing. I don't know if your organization or a place in Dallas TX is able to help with our cell phone bill or if you can refer us to an organization that can. But I'd be grateful. Thank you for your time.

So try them for assistance. They have many resources for you and maybe your 6 kids. Some are directly run, others may be from referrals. but try them. I work full time and my husband does landscaping part time due to the fact about 2 years ago we both had fulltime jobs and we were in a stable financial times but we found out that my daughter were getting molested at my sister in laws house where they were being babysit. So since then we decided to watch our own kids, and volunteers from a charity helped us pay for it.
Well back in December we got broken in, they took shoes, little gift we had bought for the kids and some of my rent $(400.00)…. Then now around December 15 I got laid off from a job where I was for almost 3 years…
I was without working for like a month and a half until I found a new job and then it took me almost a month to get a whole check, so our bills started to get behind, now were getting evicted with nowhere to go. I’ve been paying what I can but I still owe 771.10……my kids are fixing to go back to school next month and we aren’t ready I have 5 in school already…
I was wondering if for any reason there’s a possibility that we can get help from your charity.... any help is appreciated… Sorry if we are bothering you with our life issues……

Try the Dallas Community action agency, which is called the Urban League of Greater Dallas and North Central Texas . (214) 915-4600
They can refer you to programs, such as LIHEAP, and can ever refer you to other local charities and non-proft groups that may also have assistance programs. Some of the services they may have include job training and help finding a new job.

I have been unemployed since last November and my boyfriend has been unemployed since last December. We put every last penny into starting our own business but are now facing a nightmare without a dime to our name. I sold my car to pay the mortgage, his was repossessed since we could no longer afford the payments, we have shut up every unnecessary bill, no more home phone, cable, we've pawned everything and sold things on craigslist just to keep the house - which is the last thing we have left that can be taken away. Our electric bill is scheduled to be shut off YESTERDAY which means it will go any minute, and we will not have the $550 to prevent that from happening for weeks, since I wasn't eligible to get unemployment benefits, and my bf was. Texas Workforce Commission is a joke and he gets barely enough to feed the two of us. We have animals and they get to eat every other day to stretch out the food they have left. I eat ramen every other day. We have nothing left to sell, and even though we will be getting loans from the bank for our business in the next few months, it isn't soon enough to keep us from losing the power. We have exhausted every friend or family member with the means to help us and now have no where else to turn to. I have no children so I am not eligable to get financial assistance from TANF, it seems they only will help if you have kids, or are old. What about two young struggling adults? Is there any where we can turn to? TXU will not work with me to push back the disconnection date since it has been shut off four times since we lost our jobs.

How can I find help? Who do I call or go to? Anybody know of phone numbers or websites for Texas or the Dallas area? Thanks so much for any advice or pointers...
