He recently had a leg amputated due to complications from severe diabetes. He has been in a rehab facility recovering, but just received news that he will be discharged on June 12.
Unfortunately, he is completely unprepared for the challenges that lie ahead.
He has no ramp at his home or any accommodations for someone with an amputation. He receives disability income and does not have the financial means to have a ramp installed or make other needed modifications to the home. On top of that, his wife was involved in a serious car accident shortly after his surgery, and their only vehicle was totaled. As it stands, they have no way to get him home from the rehab facility, and even worse—no way for him to safely enter the house.
I’m currently in Tennessee and unable to physically assist him in Georgia with a ride or car, which is why I’m desperately reaching out for help. If there’s any way your church or outreach program could assist—whether it’s building a ramp, helping with transportation, or even pointing us to another group or ministry that can—we would be incredibly grateful.
