Re: Types of grants for single moms - what are they?
Hello - my church gave me this email address to see if there’s anywhere that can help pay my rent so we stop getting $75 late fees and don’t get kicked out because we can’t catch up. I was hospitalized in January and had to have emergency surgery, which a charity grant did help me pay for some. I was then dealt with several complications that prolonged my hospital stay and ended up having to be on short term disability from work for almost 4 months dealing with home health and being on a wound vac. I’m a single mom and we’re struggling hard because we were barely making it paycheck to paycheck before being on short term disability and that really set us back. My son is 15 and has been applying for jobs all around us but nobody is giving him a chance yet. It’s very stressful and I have ongoing health issues as it is. I have life insurance so my son and the bills would be taken care of if/when I die but I’m still living. I’ve made payment arrangements with all the utilities I could, but my rent is $1700/month so I need a grant for some of that as I still owe a $1425 balance from the past months and keep getting charged $75 late fees on top of that.

Hi,Kelsea wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 1:32 pm I'm a single mom of four children and one on the way scheduled C-section 12/21. I hit hard times and need a grant program focused on single mothers. I usually work and do this all alone.
But I need help now. I have pneumonia and am on bed rest. I did apply for cash assistance from social services, but I got half of a 1/2 of a payment. So I am looking for a grant to cover the balance. I should have one more check coming which has 18 hours on it. But I have rent, gas, electric, car note, insurance and other bills. I'm just behind in everything as most single moms are and hope a grant will help. I can't even get my kids Christmas gifts. I'm trying to keep a roof over their heads.
If you could help out in any way I would appreciate it.
So a single mom, which is struggling, with another kid (your Fifth!!) due in a few months? Really? Sadly you are setting your kids up for a life of poverty and hardship. A very selfish move you are making. As far as your question on grants that may help (though your situation is so dire nothing will), try this for the grants. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... moms_.html
